Proclamation Signed Observing Constitution Week

Constitution Week Proclamation was signed by Presiding Commissioner Greg Mathis on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the commissioners meeting.  

Government officials from the local, county, state and national level are ask by the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution to recognize September 17th as the 230th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution.

This proclamation closes with these words:

I, Greg Mathis, Presiding Commissioner, of the County of Stoddard in the State of Missouri, do hereby proclaim September 17 through 23, 2017 to be CONSTITUTION WEEK
AND ask our citizens to reaffirm the ideals the Framers of the Constitution had in 1787 by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian of our liberties, remembering that lost rights many never be regained.

Crowley’s Ridge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution encourage the citizens of our county to learn more about this magnificent document, the Constitution of the United States.

Annual Chili and Stew Supper on Tuesday Evening

Dexter, Missouri - The annual Chili & Stew Supper hosted by the Stoddard County Nutrition Center will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  Monies will got to paint the outside of the building and install a new floor in the kitchen area.

Adults dinners are $7.00 each and children 10 and under are just $3.00.

The Dexter Nutrition Center is located at 23 West Stoddard St. in downtown Dexter.

This is an all you can eat cornbread, stew and chili with homemade dessert and a drink.  Dine in or carry out.

Dexter, Missouri - American Legion District 14 Commander Frankie Adams was on hand at Post 59 in Dexter to swear in the newly elected officers of both the Post and the Ladies Auxiliary.

In the photo at right are newly elected officers of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
