Every year when the season of fall rolls around I get anxious. There are so many things going on throughout my favorite season that I can barely seem to sit still during this time of year.
The weather starts to get a bit chilly which, indeed, makes me crave my mother’s chili. I can’t help but fast-forward in my head a few months to Christmas. I picture everyone all bundled up walking at an extremely fast pace through the mall to get last minute Christmas shopping completed. We’ve all been guilty of running to the mall on Christmas Eve at least once, right?
That’s enough about Christmas though; it’s not here yet nor will it be for a couple more months. Right now we are just beginning the lovely season of fall. It may not be everyone’s favorite, but no one can deny the beautiful colors that are present as you take a Sunday afternoon drive in your car. The weather is just right where you might be able to cruise with your windows slightly cracked. If you’re an early riser, it may even be possible that you turned on your heat while hopping in your car in the early hours of the morning.
It’s the weather that women should love. Fall offers some of the cutest styles and fashions. From layering a shirt underneath a stylish jacket, to the boots you’ve been waiting to break out of your closet to go over those skinny jeans that might not fit next year, to that cute scarf you couldn’t pass up buying in the dead of summer.
For the men (and a lot of women), football is always on the television, or if you’re lucky enough, your favorite baseball team is making their way to the post season in hopes of taking it all the way to win the World Series. You don’t have to be a sports fanatic to feel the excitement of a great baseball win or a touchdown pass that was thrown with one minute left that gave your favorite team a win in the big game.
The leaves have changed colors throughout the past month and some of us are often too busy to notice the beauty around us. We rush back and forth from work, school, the occasional Wal-Mart trip, and back home without once stopping and noticing our beautiful surroundings. I’m guilty of it each year and I say next year that I will promise to take time out of every day to go outside and appreciate the small things.
Remember next time you’re driving in your car, no matter where to, that the beautiful orange, red, and yellow leaves gracefully falling from the trees will not be in sight much longer. No matter what your favorite season is, remember to enjoy each moment we have.
Happy Fall Ya’ll!
