
Alex Porter of Essex, Missouri and a 2024 graduate of Richland High School has been honored by the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture with academic scholarship support for the 2024-2025 academic year.
He was awarded the Joseph Fleming Memorial Freshman Scholarship to study plant and soil sciences, according to a press release from the university.
These scholarships are part of the more than $1.8 million that students receive from the Ferguson College and its academic departments. Students from all areas of study are considered for university scholarships, which can be combined with college and departmental opportunities.
“We are proud to support new students as they begin their academic careers in the Ferguson College of Agriculture,” said Cynda Clary, Ferguson College of Agriculture associate dean of academic programs. “We look forward to seeing the contributions they will make within our college and at OSU. We are grateful for our donors and friends who support these scholarships and our students.”
The Ferguson College of Agriculture believes in the value of hands-on education and the importance of having a well-rounded student experience.

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024 the Dexter High School celebrated Senior Night at the volleyball game against Doniphan.
Cali is the daughter of Jason and Courtney Cowell.
She is a four year member of the volleyball team and a four year member of the varsity basketball cheer team. She is also a member of Sr. Beta Club, HOSA, Student Council (STUCO), National Honor Society, and Pep Club.
Her most memorable volleyball moment was riding the water rides at Silver Dollar City with the seniors and coaches and watching the coaches get completely drenched at the end!
Her future plans are to attend University of Missouri - Columbia and will major in health science.

Avery is the daughter of Andy and Natalie Riley.
She is a four year member of the volleyball team and a four year member of the varsity basketball cheer team. She is also a member of Sr. Bets Club, FCCLA, HOSA, National Honor Society, Top 10%, and Pep Club.
Avery's most memorable volleyball moment was shoving Claire in a locker after practice!
Her future plans are to attend the University of Mississippi and pursue a pre-med major.

Kate is the daughter of Rob and Christy Nichols.
She is a four year member of the varsity volleyball team and a four year member of the varsity basketball team. She is also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sr. Beta Club, National HonorSociety and Pep Club.
Her most memorable volleyball moment was winning the SCAA Championship her freshman year.
Kate's future plans are to attend Mineral Area College where she will be playing volleyball and major in Elementary Education.

Liz Bolin is the daughter of Chris and Jennifer Bolin.
She is a four year member of the volleyball team and a member of the varsity basketball cheer team. She is also a member of Sr. Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, HOSA, and Pep Club.
Her most memorable volleyball moment was when her and Kate were forced into riding roller coasters together with the team at Silver Dollar City.
Her future plans are to attend Arkansas State University - Jonesboro and major in Occupational Therapy.
