Puxico Teachers Honored at Retirement Dinner

The Puxico CEA hosted its annual Retirement and Awards Banquet at the end of the school year.  


The annual banquet also celebrated the contributions and upcoming retirement of some of its valuable staff members. 


Mrs. Annette Frazier joined the Puxico R-8 District and served one year as junior high Communication Arts teacher.  Mrs. Frazier is retiring with 24 total years of service in the education field.


Mrs. Marla Clark is also on track to enjoy retirement after 31 years of teaching in public education, of which 28 years were spent in the Puxico School 

District.


While at Puxico, Mrs. Clark spent most of her time as a Kindertarten teacher before transitioning over to teach with the District’s Federal Program and Title Services. 


Celebrating her retirement as Elemetnary Principal, was Mrs. Tammy Thompson.  


Mrs. Thompson first joined the staff at Puxico as the instructional coach and cirriculumn diretor before she was promoted to elementary principal.  


Mrs. Thompson has served 32 years in public education, with the last 5 years being devoted to the Puxico School District.

Puxico School District's Top Teachers and Staff of the Year

The Puxico CEA hosted its annual Retirement and Awards Banquet at the end of the school year.  


Employees were honored for their contributions to the students of the Puxico R-8 School Distrcit and their fellow coworkers,


Four staff members were voted the District’s Teacher/Staff Member of the year.  


Among the honorees were Jennifer Parsley, Puxico Elementary Teacher of the Year, Will Davis, Puxico Junior High Teacher of the Year, Karen Haynes,   Puxico High School Teacher of the Year and Don McRoy, Puxico Support Staff Member of the Year.

Puhicah Club in Puxico gave out three scholarships in the amount of $400 each.  Recipients are Thomas Burch, Ava Clark, and Layla Thomas.

Dexter FLBA is Collecting Gently Used or New Shoes

Got any shoes you don't wear anymore? 


Please bring these shoes, boots, sandals, sneakers, etc. because upstairs at the Dexter High School is a collection box for new, or gently used shoes. 


FBLA is collecting them to be used as a fundraiser for Cy, Luke, Henley and Mrs. Guy to go to the National Leadership Conference this summer. 


Future Business Leaders of America can accept adult and kids shoes, so ask your family if they have any they wish to donate. 


There will also be donation boxes next week at the other buildings on the Dexter campus and the drive runs from now to June 14th.


Drop off at the Dexter High School or any building on the Dexter campus.

Eric Sitze Celebrated at Dexter Schools Retirement Tea

The Dexter Public Schools CTA celebrated the retirement of Eric Sitze on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Mr. Sitze graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Physical Education in 1996. 


He also earned a Master's in Administration from William Woods in 2006.


Mr. Sitze began teaching at T.S. Hill Middle School as the Key Skills teacher in 1996.


After 5 years of teaching, Mr. Sitze transferred to Dexter High School as the Boy's PE coach. 


Mr. Sitze has held multiple coaching positions, including boys' basketball, girls' basketball, and golf. 


Mr. Sitze retires with ALL 28 of his years of faithful and dedicated service to the Dexter Public Schools.
