
On Monday, March 20, 2023, Dexter High School held the Top 10% Honors Program in the auditorium.
High School Principal, Alana Dowdy, welcomed everyone.
Tara Barker, President, Dexter Chamber, addressed the audience.
Laura Stone and Amber Nea, high school counselors, performed the introduction of honorees for each class.
Lydia Lancaster, Dexter High School graduated and now a Doctor of Dental Medicine spoke to the students and gave a speech about the Top Ten Pieces of Advice or the Top 10%.
"It is such an honor to be here tonight," commented Lancaster. "It seems like yesterday that I graduated. However reality started to sink in that the last time I sat here in this auditorium was in 2007, the year I graduated. That was 16 years ago. So not quite yesterday. Sixteen years is longer than some of the freshmen and sophomores have been alive. I am overwhelmed that something that seems like yesterday and almost how much time has passed. That was a tough pill for me to swallow."
Senior Honorees in alphabetical order are Kaden Bias, Peyton Boles, Kinleigh Chappell, Shelby Dawson, Makenna Dean, Ellen Dowdy, Caitlin Giles, Madison Glaus, Hannah Guy, Jayci Holcomb, Alise Howell, and Abigail Rash.
