The Bernie Board of Education met in regular session Monday, February 13th.
The Board approved Calendar B for the 2023/2024 school year.
Program evaluations on Co-Curricular Activities, Discipline and A+ were approved. The A+ Assurance statement was re-adopted thereby allowing Bernie students who qualify to obtain 2 years of tuition at a Community College or Tech school.
The Board approved the financial statement and paying the monthly bills.
During executive session:
The Board approved adding Kailyn Cox, Mary Beth Roberts, Megan Williams, Dalton Phillips, Kayla Sanderson and Ethan Kincy to the Substitute list.
The Board approved hiring Kaitlyn Cox as a 1st Grade Elementary Teacher for the 2023/24 School Year.
The Board of Education approved hiring Alex Beaird as the High School Principal for the 2023/24 School Year.
The Board extended Tommie Ellenburg’s Principal Contract through 2024/2025.

Natalie Sills named the 2023 Bloomfield High School Homecoming Queen.
Natalie is the daughter of Dean and Nikki Sills and is a senior at Bloomfield High School.
She is a member of Sr. Beta Club, future Farmers of America, Yearbook Staff, Honor Choir, Volleyball Team and Basketball Team.
Her future plans are to go to Cosmetology School and become an entrepreneur by owning her own salon.
She is escorted by Christian Hartlein.
He is the son of Cory and Cara Hartlein.
Christian is a member of Sr. Beta Club, Future Farmers of America, Honor Choir, Cross Country and the Baseball Team.
After graduation he plans to pursue a career in law enforcement.
