Bloomfield High School Announces 2022 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Bloomfield, MO - The Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Bloomfield High School 2022 graduating class has been announced.

The BHS 2022 Salutatorian is Austin Pratt.

Austin is the son of Lana and Zachariah Pratt.

He has obtained a 3.97 out of 4.0 GPA during his high school career.

His activities include Sr. Beta Club, Scholar Bowl, FCCLA, and Band.

His future plans are to attend college where he will pursue a major in Computer Science and become an independent video game developer. 

The BHS 2022 Valedictorian is Hayleigh Poe.

Hayleigh is the daughter of Roy and Jessica Poe.

She accumulated a 3.99 out of 4.0 GPA while in high school.

Her activities include Sr. Beta Club, Scholar Bowl, FCCLA, Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council, Yearbook, and Band.

Her future plans are to attend Southeast Missouri State University - Cape Girardeau and major in English Education, in hopes of becoming an English teacher.  Hayleigh would also like to pursue writing fiction novels.

Tentative Agenda - Dexter Public School Board of Education for a Regular Board Meeting on May 17, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.

1.  Call to Order

2.  Roll Call

3.  Pledge of Allegiance

4.    Consent Agenda

Approve board agenda.

Approve minutes of April 19, 2022 regular board meeting and May 6, 2022 special board meeting.

Approve payment of bills.

 5. Public Comments (At this time someone who is pre-registered with the Board Secretary prior to the beginning of the Board meeting to present a position on a specific agenda item or who is pre-registered with the superintendent in writing at least 5 days prior to the beginning of the Board meeting to present a general comment about a non-agenda item will be given time for presentation to the Board of Education. Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes. A maximum of 15 minutes is allowed for this public comment section. Please, just one spokesperson per group; individuals may speak only once per meeting; time regulated by the Board Chairman. Note: Individuals wishing to convey a complaint about procedures, regulations, or personnel will not be scheduled to address the Board until the District’s complaint procedure has been exhausted; Complaints directed at specific personnel will not be heard in open session.)

Bernie School Board of Education Hires New Volleyball Coach

Bernie, MO - The Bernie School Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, May 9, 2022.

Items on the Agenda included approving the Facilities and Special Services Programs.

The Board voted to increase meal prices $ .10 across the board for the 2022/2023 school year.

The Board approved contracting the Speech Language Services with Presence Learning .  

The Board approved changes to the HS Handbook and Elementary Handbook. 

The Board also approved the financial report and paying the bills.

In Executive Session:

Classified staff evaluations were reviewed and the Board approved rehiring classified staff.

The Board accepted the resignations from McKenzie Bess, Elementary Paraprofessional and Bridget Heiser, HS Math.

The Board also approved hiring Emily Cook, 1st Grade, Elemim Shell, Elementary Para, Victoria Jacobs, Elementary Para, Brittany Owens, Elementary Para and Sierra Eberle, Elementary Para.  

The Board also approved hiring Casey Arnold as the Speech Intervention Service Teacher.

Rachel Vernon was approved by the Board of Education as the HS and JH Head Volleyball Coach and Cassidy Freed was approved for the HS Asst. Volleyball Coach.
