Central Elementary Announces 3rd Grade 2nd Quarter 2019 Honor Roll

Dexter, Missouri - Central Elementary School announced their 2019 2nd Quarter Honor Roll students for 3rd grade.  Students must maintain a B average to be on the Honor Roll each quarter.

Making the honor roll is not as easy as one might think.  Central Elementary students who are high achievers acquire and develop excellent study habits and skills, especially in time management.  

Successful, lifelong learners set aside a time and a space every day to do their homework. Student who can manage their daily workload have a better chance of attaining academic success.

Kirksville, Missouri - Truman State University Announces Fall 2019 President’s List. Two local students were named.

Macy Cecil from Dexter

Clara Ollinger from Bloomfield

To qualify for this list an undergraduate student must attain a semester 4.0 grade point average and must complete at least 12 credit hours.

The list is organized by state and hometown. Hometowns are based upon the permanent address given to the University by the student. Students who have requested a directory hold on their information are not included on the list. Any questions regarding student eligibility for the list can be directed to the Academic Affairs Office at (660) 785-4105.

2020 DHS Winter Homecoming Candidates Announced

Dexter, Missouri - Dexter High School released the 2020 Winter Homecoming candidates today.  Winter Homecoming will be held on Friday, January 24th.  The boys basketball team will host New Madrid County Central.  Coronation of the homecoming queen and her court will be held between the junior varsity game and the varsity game. The Kickin' Cats Dance Team will perform at half-time of the varsity game.

The candidates are front from left: McKenzie Yount, nominated by the Kicking 'Cats dance team; Natalie Sells, nominated by the Kicking 'Cats dance team; Madilyn Hampton, nominated by the varsity cheerleaders; Blair Rogers, nominated by the varsity cheerleaders and Dulcie Pullen, nominated by the girls' basketball team.
