Dexter School Board Meeting Minutes for November 19, 2019

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter School Board met for a regularly scheduled meeting on November 19, 2019.  Below are the minutes from that meeting including retirement list of teachers.

Regular Board Meeting Notes November 19, 2019 6:00 PM

Call to Order/Roll Call/Pledge  The Board President announced the meeting is to begin, ascertains the attendance status of all board members present.  He then leads in the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Consent Agenda:  The Consent Agenda was approved.

Public Comments:  There were no public comments made.    

Old Business:  

A.    None

New Business: 

A. The board approved the 2018-19 school audit as present by Patrick Kintner CPA.

B. The board approved the 2018-19 ASBR.

C. The board approved the MUSIC renewal for the 2020 school year including the $4 million umbrella policy.

D. The board approved budget amendments for the 2019-20 school year.

E. The board approved the 2019 summer school report presented by Mrs. Duncan

F. The board approved the 2018-19 A+ report presented by Mrs. Stone.

Discussion Items:

A. The nurse’s report was shared with the board.

B. The principals reports were shared with the board.

C. The district MAP/EOC and ACT tests were shared with the board.

D. The superintendent gave his report to the board.

E. The next board meeting was set for December 17, 2019 at 6:00 pm

In Closed Session:

1.  The board approved the following substitutes for the 2019-20 school year:

2.    The board approved resignations/retirements

Elizabeth Reaves effective Dec. 23, 2019

Christina Smith effective Dec. 23, 2019

Samantha Henson effective Dec. 23, 2019

Linda Hill effective Nov. 29, 2019

Brian Becker retirement 

Jeannie Cato retirement

Lori Garrison retirement

Chuck Powers retirement

Scott Rybolt retirement

 3. The board approved the employment of special education aides for the 2019-20 school year.

Stephanie Grainger

4. The board approved senior first semester graduates.

5. The board approved Ethan Stevens as volunteer wrestling coach for the 2019-20 school year.

6. The board approved the employment of Anita Joyer as HS math teacher under the critical shortage provision for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.

T.S. Hill Middle School Old School Chili and Cinnamon Roll Supper

Dexter, Missouri - T.S. Hill Middle School "Old School" Chili and Cinnamon Roll Supper is set for Monday, November 25th from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the middle school cafeteria.

Tickets are $5 each and kids 5 and under eat for FREE.

Carry-Outs are also available.

Ticket includes entry to the middle school boys basketball game vs Poplar Bluff.  Game time 6 p.m.

Greaser of the Week is Nate Bryant

Dexter, Missouri - School is back in session and DHS Choir students are already preparing for their upcoming musical "Grease".   Jamie Sepulvado and her crew are featuring a "Greaser of the Week!" so you can get to know DHS performers!!

Performances will be Wednesday, November 20th through Saturday, November 23rd!  We'll let you know when tickets go on sale etc, but until then get to know your castmates and prepare for a spectacular show!!

Greaser of the Week is Nate Bryant

Nate is a junior at DHS, and he will be performing as Danny with the Red Cast in the upcoming performance of Grease.

He has previously performed in the DHS performances of Beauty and the Beast and Oklahoma, and he really likes the era and the music of Grease.
