
Dexter, Missouri - The first grade classroom of Mrs. Lambert earned the Southwest Elementary Positive Behavior Support Reward Flag for October 2019.
School Wide Positive Behavior Support (SWPBS) award is presented at the start of each month at Southwest Elementary. One classroom in each grade is recognized for exhibiting the high character with regard to observing the school's 3R's.
The 3R's stand for being Respectful, Ready to Learn and Responsible. The class with the highest attendance average, combined with the fewest disciplinary measures and general good character are awarded a 3R red flag to be posted in their classroom for the next month. The students are also awarded "Cat in the Hat" capes to wear and parade around the gym before returning to class. This year's theme is Dr. Seuss!

Dexter, Missouri - The annual Veterans Day Program will be held at the Bearcat Event Center on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
The program is sponsored by the Crowley's Ridge and Chalk Bluff Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution, American Legion Auxiliary, City of Dexter, and Dexter Public Schools.
Welcome will be by Logan Wyman, DHS Student Body President
Presentation of Colors by Dexter Boys Scout Troop 200
National Anthem will be sung by Madeline Parker accompanied by the DHS Band
Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Logan Wyman
Invocation will be done by Pastor Darin Kleeman - Mile City Christian Church
Introduction of Distinguished Guests will be by Dexter Mayor Jason Banken
America the Beautiful and A Tribute to the Armed Service Medley will be performed by the DHS Band - It is asked that Veterans stand when they hear their tribute song.
Sheila Alsup, American Legion Auxiliary will present the American Legion Auxiliary's 2nd grade Coin Drive and Coloring Contest Winners, the 5th Grade Poster Contest Winners, and the Middle School Essay Contest winner.
There will also be a presentation of the 8th Grade Essay Contest Winners.
Shirley Richard, Crowley Ridge DAR Regent will introduce the guest speaker Reverend Justin Sponaugle, a Gulf War Veteran.
There will then be a moment of silence for the playing of TAPS.
Dexter Boys Scout Troop 200 will retire the colors and superintendent of Dexter Schools Mr. C.A. Counts will make any announcements.
