Bloomfield, Missouri - The first day of school at Bloomfield will be Thursday, August 15, 2019  

New student registration is August 8th from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.

All student registration is also Tuesday, August 8 from 1:00pm-7:00pm in the high school gym.

Students will get his/her classroom assignment/schedule and get school pictures made. You may also visit your student's classroom and put the school supplies in the desk/locker.

Bloomfield H.S. 2019 Top Graduates
Bloomfield, Missouri - Bloomfield High School has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Bloomfield Graduating Class of 2019.

Leading the Class of 2019 is valedictorian Sydney Mayo.

She is the daughter of Scott and Cheryl Mayo.

Mayo has accumulated a 4.0 GPA and is involved in numerous activities. Those activities include Beta Club, Scholar Bowl, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, FCCLA, yearbook, student council, pep club and classic connection program.

Mayo plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and at this time is undecided on a major.

This year's salutatorian is Kalli Causey.

She is the daughter of Travis and Tonya Causey.

Causey has accumulated a 3.9 GPA and has also been involved in numerous activities. Those include Beta Club, FBLA, FCCLA, pep club, choir, cheerleading, scholar bowl, student council and yearbook.

Her future plans are to attend Murray State University in Murray, Ky. At this time Causey is undecided on a major.

Commencement will be Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 5 p.m. in the Bloomfield High School gym.

Bloomfield School Board Meeting Minutes April 2019

Bloomfield, Missouri - The Bloomfield School board recently held its April meeting and reorganized.

Louise Causey and Vince Lockhart were sworn in to begin their terms on the school board. The board then elected the following officers:

Louise Causey – president

Trevor Pulley – vice president

Vince Lockhart – secretary

Scott Gibbs – treasurer

Riley Christian, Ashton White and Will Robison presented their regional History Day projects to the board. The three students have qualified to compete at the State History Day contest on April 27 in Columbia.

The board voted to extend the OPAA! contract through the 2019-20 school year.

Executive session

The board:

• accepted the resignation/retirement of Lori Vaughn and Rhonda Slaughter effective at the end of the 2018-19 school year.

• hired substitute teacher Samantha Huckeby.

• hired Samantha Huckeby as an elementary teacher for the 2019-20 school year.

• hired Ethan Huckeby as a high school science teacher for the 2019-20 school year.

• hired Che Jones as a special education teacher for the 2019-20 school year.

• hired both non certified staff and extracurricular staff for the 2019-20 school year.

Bloomfield Elementary School Dress-Up Days for Map Testing Week

Bloomfield, Missouri - Show Your Spirit During Map Testing Week!!  Bloomfield Elementary students can dress up to show support for their 3rd and 4th grade classes as they take the State Map Test the week of April 23rd - April 26th.

Tuesday, April 23rd - Mustache Day - Don't make a mustache and work hard on the test.  3rd grade and 4th graders only will get a mustache to wear!

Wednesday, April 24th - Hat and Shades Day - Be cool during the Map Test!  3rd and 4th graders will get a crazy pair of shades.  K-4 students can wear hats and shades.

Thursday, April 25th - Olympic Day - Bring home the Map Gold!  3rd and 4th graders only will get a gold medal.  K-4 students can wear athletic gear to school.

Friday, April 26th - Wildcat Day!! - All students wear Purple and Gold!!  Show your Wildcat Spirit!!!
