Welding Classes to be Offered in Dexter by Three Rivers College
Dexter, Missouri - Three Rivers College has announced that it will begin offering welding classes at its Three Rivers – Dexter location, starting in the college’s upcoming Fall semester. Three Rivers will offer two one-year certificates for welding, as well as an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Engineering Technology with a focus on welding.

“Our welding programs offer an efficient and affordable gateway into a high-demand career,” said Dr. Dan Lauder, Chair of the Career Studies and Workforce Development department at Three Rivers. “In as little as a year, a student in these programs can be ready for well-paying welding jobs anywhere in the nation.”

Students in Three Rivers’ welding programs in Dexter can obtain a one-year certificate in Manufacturing Welding or Maintenance Welding in a year, or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Engineering Technology -- Welding Option in two years. In addition to the welding programs, Three Rivers – Dexter also offers a one-year Green Diesel certificate, focusing on diesel engine mechanics.

“Students will gain valuable in-demand skills pursuing a certificate in either the Welding or Green Diesel programs,” said Lauder. “Employers frequently hire students from our Green Diesel program before they even complete the program.”

Fall classes at Three Rivers, including the Welding program, begin August 14, with a registration deadline of Friday, August 11. Prospective students can visit trcc.edu or call 573-270-9605 for more information on all of Three Rivers’ programs of study. To apply for admission to Three Rivers, visit trcc.edu/admissions. Prospective students must possess a high school diploma or high school equivalency credential.

DHS Freshman Orientation and Ice Cream Social

Dexter, Missouri - Dexter High School Freshman Orientation will be held on Wednesday, August 9th from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. in the high school gym.  

The Dexter Student Council will also host an Ice Cream Social for the new freshmen.  

"This is a new opportunity for the incoming freshman class and we are very excited," commented Tiffany Wiggins, STUCCO Advisor.

Parents are encouraged to attend as well.  Principals, Counselors, and Athletic/Activities Director will be available to answer questions.

Students are encouraged to bring their school supplies as they may put them in their new lockers and be ready for their first day of classes!!!

Richland Back to School Bash and Open House

Essex, Missouri - The Richland 2017 Back to School Bash and Open House will be held on Tuesday, August 8th from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Elementary School playground pavilion.

The school will provide hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and a soda FREE of charge.

The Kona Ice Truck will also be on site from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. to sell snow-cones. A portion of those proceeds will benefit The Class of 2018.
