
Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter High School National Sr. Beta Club Induction and Recognition of the Class of 2017 was held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Bearcat Event Center.
Jacob Harris received the Sr. Beta Club Scholarship in the amount of $500.
He is the son of Mike and Christy Harris.
Jacob has served on the Beta Executive Board that helped established the newly formed club. He is a member of National Honor Society and Tobacco Free MO Youth. He is a varsity Scholar Bowl Captain and a member of the All-District Team. He is in the top 10% of his class.
He attended MO Boys State last summer and was an Elks Student of the Month. He is also passionate about helping with Operation Christmas Child each year.
His future plans are to attend Missouri State University and has been accepted into the Honors College. He is currently undecided on a major.

2017 - 2018 Sr. Beta Club officers were installed during the evening.
President is Jake Rice. Vice President is Seth Harris. Secretary is Shelby Smith and treasurer is Emily Ladd.
Each was introduced and lit a candle.
The National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America. And for more than 80 years, it has prepared today's students to be tomorrow's leaders.

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter High School Choir will host a Pop Concert on Saturday, May 6, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
The cost is $1.00 for students and $3.00 for adults. The public is encouraged to attend. Prizes will be given away and students that are performing are competing for a $100.00 cash prize!
The theme is "Time Warp" and the concert will feature music through the eras. They will sing songs from Johnny Cash to Lady Gaga!
