Students Celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day

Dexter, Missouri – Mrs. Putnam’s class celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day with pots on their heads and “applicious” treats!  They also enjoyed delicious muffins pie apples and Carmel dip, apple sauce, apple butter, apple juice, dried apples and apple chips!

John Chapman aka Johnny Appleseed was an American pioneer who introduced apple trees to a large part of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indian, and Illinois.  He became an American legend while still alive, due to his kind, generous ways and the symbolic importance he attributed to apples.

He was born on September 26, 1774 in Leominster, Massachusetts.

Shown in the photo are Emily Bolin, Alex Munoz, Taylor Boner, Eli Scott and Houston Neely.
