Jefferson City, Missouri – Students from Dexter T.S. Hill Middle School and Dexter Senior High School participated in the Missouri Choral Directors Association Honors Choir.
Their journey began in March 2014 when Mrs. Jamie Sepulvado, Dexter Public Schools Choir Director, recorded and submitted audition CDs. Students from around the state wanted an opportunity to sing in these prestigious choirs.
Mrs. Sepulvado received good news via e-mail that the six students were selected. The student practiced several times before traveling to Jefferson City on July 22nd. The Dexter students spent an entire day with other students from around Missouri rehearsing the pre-selected songs.
“These students were so well behaved and well represented our school to perfection!” stated Sepulvado. “It was such a great experience and learning opportunity for them to sing with other talented students from all over the state.”
“Their concerts were amazing and I could not be more proud of their hard work and dedication to choral music,” continued Sepulvado.
The Dexter Senior High School Choral Program will have a full schedule this year with many competitions and concerts throughout the year.
James Robinson, Erica Parris, and Tres Hampton represented the Dexter T.S. Hill Middle School at the MCDA Honors Choir.
Jon Rodgers, Andrew Teel, and Jackson Babb represented the Dexter Senior High School.
Congratulations! The Dexter community is extremely proud of all of the students and we look forward to many wonderful concerts this year.
