Poplar Bluff, Missouri - Three Rivers College will host the 35th Annual Merchant Showcase and the 2nd Annual Three Rivers College Car Show on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. for the Merchant Showcase and 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the Car Show. Admission to the Merchant Showcase is $1, and admission for spectators to the Car Show is free.
The Merchant Showcase gives local businesses and vendors an opportunity to showcase their services to the public. Participating businesses will have booths set up in the Bess Gym for giveaways, demonstrations, contests, and more. Visitors will have the chance to win one of four cash giveaways with paid attendance, sponsored by the Greater Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce and Three Rivers College.
“It’s a great opportunity for both businesses and local residents,” said Steve Halter, President of the Greater Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce. “Not only is it a fun atmosphere, it’s a chance for people to learn about businesses they didn't know existed.”
The 2nd Annual Car Show, sponsored by the Three Rivers Auto Club, will show off the best in modern and classic automobiles from around the Southeast Missouri region. Nine categories of vehicles will be competing, including vintage, classic, modern, modified/custom, and motorcycles. Registration will be the day of the show and will cost $10. Proceeds will go toward endowing a scholarship for future Three Rivers students.
“We had an amazing turnout last year, and we only expect it to get better this year,” said Dede Ross, a Learning Specialist at the college who helps coordinate the Car Show. “Even if you’re only interested in cars, and don’t have one to show, it’s a chance to see some of the best automobiles the region has to offer, all in one place.”
Those interested in having a booth at the Merchant Showcase may register until Friday, April 11. Businesses at the Showcase also gain access to a special business-to-business networking session from 8 to 10 a.m. on the day of the Showcase, and the chance to win a $100 cash giveaway.
