Essex, Missouri - The new school year for the Richland Rebels will begin on August 15th.
Registration for the Richland students will begin on August 7th, where the 8th graders through 10th graders will pick up their schedules and/or sign up for schedule changes with the high school counselor. Registration will continue through August 8th, where the 11th graders and 12th graders will get their schedules and will be able to make adjustments with ITV classes and college classes they wish to take. High school registration will begin in the morning at 8:30am and will last until 11:30am, after the faculty takes a lunch break, it will continue into the afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
High school registration will include the students editing this year’s schedules but they will also receive a folder with important paper work that will be due during the first week of the school year. Parents are encouraged to finish paperwork as soon as possible that students are able to begin learning in their computer classes and will be able to go to the nurse’s office if needed.
The 7th graders will be given their first junior high schedule on August 8th, where they will also have 7th Grade Orientation that will be held in the high school library from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Orientation for the 8th graders through 10th graders will take place on August 12th in the cafeteria. The 11th and 12th graders will also have their orientation on August 12th in the cafeteria from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. The two groups will be separated during the orientation but both groups will hear the same information from the faculty members.
The first group during the high school orientation will stay in the cafeteria to hear about the academic side of Richland while the second group will head to the library where they will learn about the new steps that are being taken to improve the safety and security in the high school building. This would be a great time for parents and/or students to ask questions. The two groups will switch at 6:30pm.
Open House for the elementary, junior high, and high school will be on August 12th, starting at 5:30pm and will end at 7:00pm. This is a great opportunity for new students, seventh graders, and freshmen to be shown around the school and meet their teachers.
Picture Day will be held on August 30th. Picture Day will include Kindergarten through eleventh grade. Senior composite pictures will not be taken until Picture Remake Day, which the date has not yet been decided.
