DHS Students Chosen for All-District Choir

These students chosen for the All-District Choir the students will travel to Jackson High School and perform a concert on evening of November 10th. Along with all of the other students chosen for the All-District Choir, the students chosen from Dexter will only have the day of the concert to rehearse.
The All-District Choir is divided into two groups, one consists of 11th and 12th grade students and the other is 9th and 10th grade students.
The 11th and 12th grade students who made the All-District Choir are Riley Rickman, Emily Long, Ashley Long, and the alternate is Reale Cook.
The students selected for the 9th and 10th grade division are; Shelby Gathings, Brooks Propst, Shayna Bess, Jacob Murdock, Lauren Thrower, Justin Godwin, Jon Rogers, Jordan Dodson, Jacob Palmer, and the alternates being Brandon Quertermous and Zach Price.
The choir program at Dexter High School does a great job with these students and has a couple of events coming up that are sure to be a hits. The Honors Choir is traveling to Poplar Bluff on October 16th to participate in the Fall Choral Festival at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the campus of Three Rivers College. The concert begins at 7:00 P.M. and everyone is welcome and encouraged to come see the areas top choirs.
The choir will be performing a musical, "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown," on November 14th-16th, with tickets going on sale the first week of November for $10 apiece. Be sure to make plans to come out and support these talented Dexter students.

Homecoming Activities at DHS

To start off the week on Monday was pajama day where many students and faculty came to school dressed just like they looked when they rolled out of bed. On Tuesday the halls were filled with everyone supporting their favorite colleges by wearing shirts with their respective school logos, names, and mascots.
Wednesday the students was camoflage/animal print day and the students were able to choose between coming to school dressed in their camoflage or some wild animal print outfits. Thursday was twin day where students coordinated their outfits with a friend or several friends to look like each other.
The final day of the week Friday will be red and black day to show school spirit and support the Bearcat athletes. During 7th hour the whole school will be involved with or attend the Pep Rally to get the Bearcat student body fired up for the nights football game.
The DHS Student Council will get several clubs together to decorate the fence outside of Charles Bland Stadium. During the Pep Rally the Dexter Bearcat Marching Band will play the fight song while the football cheerleaders lead the crowd in a cheer.

The Pep Rally will have an on the field activity for all students from each class getting to participate. Closing out the Pep Rally will have the football cheerleaders performing their Homecoming halftime dance routine to fire up the student body.
Students of Dexter High School and fans of the Bearcats are encouraged to come to Charles Bland Stadium on Friday night to see all of the Homecoming festivities and watch the Bearcats take on the Charleston Bluejays.
