It was also an opportunity to learn more about the Middle School PTO, its programs and to unveil the new Concession Stand in the school’s lobby.
The Middle School PTO paid for the construction of a new concession stand at the school, and the result is a great addition to the building. Local contractor Keith Bruce built the concession stand, which follows the Bearcat red and black motif, with black beadboard, black granite counter top, and red Bearcat lettering.
“The concession stand will be available at all the home volleyball, basketball and PTO events, “ said Middle School PTO President Amy Worley.
Also on hand at the Open House was PTO City Council President Suzanne Collier, who helped sell the 2011-2012 PTO t-shirts to families on hand for the event.
The Middle School PTO is also sponsoring a drawing for a new laptop computer. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. Tickets will be available for purchase during students’ lunch break until Aug. 31, and the winner will be announced on Sept. 1 at the first school pep rally.
Worleysaid the PTO will also be selling “glow wear” to the students at the Back to School Dance, scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 25.
The 2011-2011 officers of the Middle School PTO include Amy Worley, president; Malisa Mayo, vice president; Candy Miller, secretary; Janet Johns, treasurer; Jamie Huffman, sixth grade delegate; Nancy Langley, seventh grade delegate; and Connie Smith, eighth grade delegate.
