Game #3 Portageville vs South Pemiscot at 2022 Bloomfield Christmas Tournament

The 2022 Bloomfield Christmas Tournament had its second upset of the day and a big one at that.  The #4 ranked Portageville Bulldogs were defeated by the #13 South Pemiscot Bulldogs 63 - 54.

Trevan Shuburte, a 5'7" senior guard from South Pemiscot and Matt Moore, 6'3" senior guard both scored a game-high 17 points.  Shuburte scored only one bucket, three treys and was 6/7 at the charity striped.  Moore recorded four buckets and two treys and was 3/6 at the line.

Robert Farmer, a 5/3" freshman guard, tallied 14 points from five baskets, one 3-pointer and was 1/5 at the line for South Pemiscot.

Jamarion Smith of Portageville also recorded a game-high 17 points on seven buckets and three at the charity stripe.  He is a 6 ' 0" junior.

Shane Townsend, a 6'0" senior also tallied double digits recording 16 total on six baskets and one trey.  He was 1/1 at the line.

Thomas Frakes is a 6'2" senior and finished the night with 10 points.  He was 2/2 at the line and tallied two 3-pointers and one bucket.

Final Score. Portageville 54, South Pemiscot 63

South Pemiscot will play Malden on Wednesday, December 28th at 5:30 p.m.

Richland will play Portageville on Wednesday, December 28th at 10:00 a.m.

Game #2 Puxico vs East Prairie - 2022 Bloomfield Christmas Tournament

Game #2 of the 2022 Bloomfield Christmas Tournament was a matchup between the #8 seeded Puxico Indians and the #9 seeded East Prairie Eagles.  This was the first upset of the tournament with the Eagles defeating the Indians 62 - 48.

East Prairie stayed aggressive throughout the game defensively shutting down the Indians offense. 

Wyatt Williams, #21, a 6'0" senior guard recorded a game-high 21 points on 8 buckets, 1 trey and was 2/3 at the line.

Noah Johnson #11 also hit double digits scoring 16 points on 7 baskets and was 2/4 at the line.

Rafe Byassee, a senior guard, finished with 10 points.  He hit two buckets and two 3-pointers.

Puxico's Duncan Crabb, a 6'0" senior, collected the team-high 14 points.  He was 6/7 from the charity stripe and added two buckets.

Final Score Puxico 48, East Prairie 62

East Prairie will play Dexter at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28th.

Puxico will play Gideon on Wednesday, December 28th at 11:30 a.m.

Dexter vs Gideon in Round One of the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament

The 2022 Bloomfield Christmas got off to a rocky start due to weather this year.  Monday's games were postponed to Tuesday.  The first game of the day was the Dexter Bearcats vs the Gideon Bulldogs.  Dexter being the #1 seed demolished the #16 seeded Gideon 78-19.

Cole Nichols, a 6'2" senior from Dexter tallied a game-high 28 points for the Bearcats.  He scored on 7 baskets, 3 treys and was 5/8 at the line.

Truman Krapf finished with 17 points on five 3-pointers and one regular basket.

Brayden Pullum also finished in double digits scoring 6 buckets, 1 trey totaling 15 points.

Final Score Dexter 78, Gideon 19

Dexter.  27   24   21.  6 -  78

2022 Puxico High School Sports Senior Night Honored the Memory of Drake Guffey

The Puxico High School is proud to have student athletes who represent the school well, through their hard work both on the court and in the classroom.  Tonight they honored their senior athletes for their last season and representing the Puxico Indians.

At this time the senior basketball teammates would like to take this opportunity to honor their teammate, by asking the family of Drake Guffey, to join them on the court.

Drake was their teammate throughout many years and would have graduated in 2023. He was the son of Brian Guffey and Jessica Fleeman.

The seniors and Puxico School District would like the family to know they are loved and Drake will never be forgotten.

They then had a moment of silence dedicated to the memory of Drake Guffey.

Guffey was 14 years of age and passed on September 14, 2019.

2022 Puxico High School Senior Night Featuring Duncan Crabb

The Puxico High School is proud to have student athletes who represent the school well, through their hard work both on the court and in the classroom.  Tonight they honored their senior athletes for their last season and representing the Puxico Indians.

Senior guard and forward, #20, Duncan Crabb, being escorted by his father, Jason Crabb, and his mother, Cindy Crabb.

Duncan has been a player all four years of high school.

After graduation he plans to attend college to earn an Engineering degree.

Duncan would like to thank all of his coaches who believed in him and made him push himself harder than he thought possible.  He would like to extend a thank you to everyone who supported him, especially his parents who have been his biggest support and have gotten him to where he is today.

Duncan's words of wisdom to his teammates is, "The only person who can stop you from reaching your goals is you."
