The 2022 Malden Junior Varsity Volleyball Tournament will be held on Saturday, August 27.
There are twelve teams participating. They are listed in no particular order: Malden, Twin Rivers, Dexter, Gideon, Clarkton, Caruthersville, Kennett, Senath, Portageville, Campbell, Delta C-7 and New Madrid County Central.
Pool A includes Kennett, Twin Rivers, Malden and Delta C-7.
Pool B includes Gideon, Caruthersville, Campbell, and Senath.
Pool C includes Dexter, Clarkton, Portageville, and New Madrid County Central.
Games will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. Malden will utilize both the high school and elementary gyms. Pool A and B will play all of their games in the High school gym, while pool C will play in the elementary gym. ONLY THE TOP TEAMS FROM EACH POOL WILL ADVANCE TO GOLD BRACKET. Gold, silver, and bronze brackets are determined by W/L, then point differentials.
The tournament will begin promptly after pool play results are posted.
All tournament games will be played on these courts as follows; gold bracket court 1, silver bracket court 2, bronze bracket court 3.
There will be gift baskets and items for auction
Concession stands in elementary and high school lobbies, cash only.
Plaques will be given for first and second place in each bracket, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
There are no Covid restrictions in place for this tournament.
Pool Play Format- two 25 point games with a 27 point cap, games begin with a score of 4-4.
Tournament-Single elimination, two out of three sets, the first two sets are to 25,(no point cap), If a deciding third set is needed, it will be played to 15 (no point cap) (win by 2).
The teams from each pool will be placed on a predetermined bracket based on the results of pool play.
If a tie occurs in pool play, the following steps will be taken to determine bracket play seeding: Wins/Losses, then head to head, then head to head points, total points, if there is still a tie the teams will play one set to 15.(no cap)
