Cape Girardeau, MO - The Dexter Bearcat Wrestling Team beat Cape Central 66-18, Notre Dame 66-9, and Kennett 52-18 on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Cape Central High School.

Chad Jamerson Hired as New Head Football Coach at Dexter High School

Dexter, MO - In closed session Wednesday evening, the Dexter R-XI Board of Education voted unanimously to approve the hiring of Chad Jamerson as the new head football coach at Dexter High School. 

Jamerson replaces Aaron Pixley, who announced his retirement from the position at the end of the 2021 season. 

Jamerson, who will be in charge of our weightlifting program at the high school, has 17 years of coaching experience. 

He served as the head coach at East Prairie from 2012-2020. 

Most recently, he worked as an assistant coach under Kent Gibbs at Cape Central High School.   

When asked to describe his foundational principles, Jamerson replied, “Faith, Family, and Football-always putting kids first!”

We are excited to welcome Coach Jamerson and his family to the Dexter R-XI School District.

Lady Bearcats Fall to Doniphan Donettes 56-38 on Monday

Doniphan, MO - The Doniphan Donettes increased their winning streak to 14 games defeating the Dexter Lady Bearcats 56-38 on Monday, January 24th at Doniphan High School.

The Donettes outscored the Bearcats 17-1 in the third quarter to secure their win.

Bailey Carson scored a game-high 20 points for the Doniphan.  Allison Skaggs recorded 11 points.

Magi McBride had a team-high 17 points for the Lady Cats.

Dexter (10-4) will face Sikeston in a SEMO Conference matchup at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 27th at the Sikeston Field House.

Doniphan (15-1) will host Twin Rivers in an Ozark Foothills matchup at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 27th at Doniphan High School.

Bloomfield JV Upsets #4 Advance JV in Game #1 of the SCAA BB Tournament

Bloomfield, MO - The #5 seeded Bloomfield Wildcats upset the #4 seeded Advance JV Hornets in game #1 of the Stoddard County Athletic Association (SCAA) Boys Basketball Tournament on Monday evening in overtime.

Advance's Brylen Carlton recorded a game-high 21 points.  Ayden Fleming contributed 15 points including three treys.

Bloomfield's Caleb Upchurch had a team-high 15 points.  Lucas Dowdy added 11 points.

Game was tied 47 all and went into overtime.  Bloomfield JV Wildcats pulled off the upset winning 51-50.

2022 SCAA Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament Seeds Released

Bloomfield, MO - The 2022 Stoddard County Athletic Association (SCAA) junior varsity boys basketball seeds have been announced. 

Puxico JV has earned the #1 seed followed by #2 Woodland, #3 Dexter, #4 Advance, #5 Bloomfield, #6 Bell City, #7 Richland, and #8 Brnie.

JV Tournament begins Monday, January 24th

Monday Schedule:

4:00 p.m. #4 Advance vs #5 Bloomfield

7:00 p.m. #2 Woodland vs #7 Richland

Tuesday Schedule:

5:30 p.m. #3 Dexter vs #6 Bell City

8:30 p.m. #1 Puxico vs #8 Bernie

Semifinals are on Thursday, January 27th at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Third place is Friday at 4 p.m. and Championship is at 7:00 p.m.
