DHS 2022 Wrestling Senior Night Featuring Diego McCormick

Dexter, MO - The Dexter High School wrestling team honored their seniors on Tuesday, February 1st at the high school gym prior to the Kennett match.

Diego McCormick is the son of Jessica Frazier and Jason McCormick.

He is a member of the Bearcat Wrestling team.

His future plans are to attend Fontbonne University and major in Computer Science.

His most memorable moment at Dexter HIgh School is the state wrestling trip his sophomore year.

Bernie Mules on a Roll, Finish off Hayti at the Mule Barn

Bernie, MO - The Bernie Varsity Mules were victorious again winning 10 games in a row as they beat the visiting Hayti Indians, 88-59 at the Mule Barn. With the win, the Mules now stand at an incredible 19-1 on the season.  

Bernie sophomore Laterrence Robinson led all scorers with 25 points including 4 treys. Noah Foster was right on his heels scoring 23 points.  John Nimmo stepped in at 15 points and Hunter Corzine finished with 10 points.

Hayti started out well earning the lead at the end of the first quarter 14-12.  However the Mules were not going to have it and outscored the Indians 27-15 in the 2nd period to take the lead at halftime 39-32.

Hayti senior Tray’von Thomas scored 21 points. Sophomore Briley Smart finished with 13 points.

Chad Jamerson Hired as New Head Football Coach at Dexter High School

Dexter, MO - In closed session Wednesday evening, the Dexter R-XI Board of Education voted unanimously to approve the hiring of Chad Jamerson as the new head football coach at Dexter High School. 

Jamerson replaces Aaron Pixley, who announced his retirement from the position at the end of the 2021 season. 

Jamerson, who will be in charge of our weightlifting program at the high school, has 17 years of coaching experience. 

He served as the head coach at East Prairie from 2012-2020. 

Most recently, he worked as an assistant coach under Kent Gibbs at Cape Central High School.   

When asked to describe his foundational principles, Jamerson replied, “Faith, Family, and Football-always putting kids first!”

We are excited to welcome Coach Jamerson and his family to the Dexter R-XI School District.

Lady Bearcats Fall to Doniphan Donettes 56-38 on Monday

Doniphan, MO - The Doniphan Donettes increased their winning streak to 14 games defeating the Dexter Lady Bearcats 56-38 on Monday, January 24th at Doniphan High School.

The Donettes outscored the Bearcats 17-1 in the third quarter to secure their win.

Bailey Carson scored a game-high 20 points for the Doniphan.  Allison Skaggs recorded 11 points.

Magi McBride had a team-high 17 points for the Lady Cats.

Dexter (10-4) will face Sikeston in a SEMO Conference matchup at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 27th at the Sikeston Field House.

Doniphan (15-1) will host Twin Rivers in an Ozark Foothills matchup at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 27th at Doniphan High School.
