Game 10 Bloomfield Christmas Tournament South Pemiscot Eliminates Puxico

Bloomfield, Missouri - The #10 seeded South Pemiscot Bulldogs defeated #15 seeded Puxico Indians 75-61 in a consolation quarterfinal of the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament on Thursday morning.

Puxico led 17-15 at the end of the first quarter and again at the half by a score of 29-27.  South Pemiscot exploded in the third period tallying 30 points to the Indians' 13.

South Pem's Jamarea Rogers finished with a game-high 22 points.  He hit five treys to propel the Bulldogs.

Terryon Johnson and Darius Johnson finished in double digits also with 12 points each.

Ethan Helm had a team-high 18 points for the Indians.  Matt Caldwell hit three treys adding 11 points.  Bailey Zych scored 10 points. 

Puxico (2-8) is now eliminated from tournament play.

South Pemiscot will play Malden on Friday at 2:30 in Game #18 of the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament.

Game 9 Bloomfield Christmas Tournament Wildcats Beat Gideon

Bloomfield, Missouri - Game 9 of the 2018 Bloomfield Christmas Tournament proved to be the Wildcats' best performance thus far.  They beat Gideon in a very tight match 49-43.

No. 13 seeded Bloomfield Wildcats (2-7) led 10-3 after the first quarter, 22-16 at the half, 40-31 by the end of the third quarter beating the #12 seeded Bulldogs in a consolation quarterfinal on Thursday morning.

Travis McCollough tallied a game-high 26 points for the Wildcats.  He hit three 3-pointers, five buckets and was seven of nine from the charity stripe.

Sam Williams of Gideon had a team-high 18 points. 

#13 Bloomfield will play Portageville in Game 17 of the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament on Friday at 1:00 p.m,

#12 Gideon has been eliminated from tournament play.

Bloomfield, Missouri - In the first upset of the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament, #9 seeded Van Buren beat #8 seeded Portageville in the very last game on Wednesday evening by a score of 70-62.

It took all of the first half for Van Buren to get started offensively.  They were held to just 18 points in the first two periods of the game.  Portageville scored double digits in each of the four quarters.

Portageville led 15-13 at the end of the first and 29-18 at the half.  Van Buren exploded in the third period tallying 28 points and holding Portageville to just 11.  Going into the fourth quarter Van Buren led Portageville 46-40.

Bloomfield, Missouri - The #7 seeded Kennett Indians fell behind #10 seeded South Pemiscot 9 - 0 in the opening quarter but still found a way to pull out a victory defeating the Bulldogs 70-40.

Kennett and South Pemiscot were tied 15 all at the end of the first period.

Kennett's Quayv'aun Harrell tallied a game-high 20 points including three treys.  La'Quez Pulliam and ben McMullan each finished with 12 points.

South Pem's Darius Johnson had a team high 12 points including one 3-pointer.

Twin Rivers (7-2) led 19-14 after one period, 30-18 at the half and 48-30 by the start of the 4th quarter.

Twin Rivers' Hayden Thomas finished with a game-high 22 points. He hit four treys.

Zach Hargraves finished with 21 points on 8 buckets, one trey and two from the charity stripe.

Daniel Petty and Riley Glass paced Richland (5-3) with 13 points each.
