
Dexter, Missouri - Lady Bearcat Basketball Summer Camp will be held June 4th - 6th. Deadline for registration is Friday, May 18th.
Kindergarten - 5th grade summer sessions will be from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
6th, 7th and 8th grade summer sessions will be from 10:00 a.m. - Noon.
This is for girls entering these grades for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Camps will feature:

* Ball Handling & Passing Instruction
* Shooting Instruction
* Defensive Concepts
* Ability/Age Grouping
* Contests and Games
* Certificates for Contest Winners
* Camp T-Shirt (to ensure size register by May 18th)
Contests will include: Hot Shot, Free Throw, Chair Dribble, 2 Ball Lay-Ups, Lane Slides, One-on-ONe, and Team lay.
Cost is $25 per child and make checks payable to Dexter High School.
You can register now or the first day of camp, but to allow time for t-shirts to be made register by May 18th.

Cape Girardeau, Missouri - Dexter Bearcats boys tennis team "doubles team" qualified for the Individual Sectionals Tennis Tournament in Windsor on Tuesday.
Eric Hahn and Nate Gargas finished 2nd in doubles. They won their quarter final match 6-0, 6-0 over Devin Lincoln and Hayden Morrill of Notre Dame.
They won their Semi-Final match 6-1, 6-0 over Logan Harris and Les Copeland of North County High School. They then lost in the championship final 7-5, 4-6, 3-6 to Isaac Hopkins and Andrew West of Notre Dame.
Their 2nd place finish qualifies them to move on to the Sectionals round on Tuesday. If they win their one match on Tuesday, they will qualify for the State Tournament.
Logan Wyman and Travis Propst finished 3rd in the Individual Doubles Districts. They won their first round match 6-2, 6-1 against Lang Li and Grant Lawson of Sikeston. They lost their semi-final match 2-6, 3-6 to Isaac Hopkins and Andrew West of Notre Dame. They won their 3rd place match 6-3, 6-1 over Logan Harris and Les Copeland of North County High School.

Cape Girardeau, Missouri - The Dexter High School boys tennis team defeated Notre Dame 5-4 to win the Class 1, District 1 Championship on Tuesday evening.
The Bearcats won four of their six singles matches. This was their third District Championship in the past four years.

No. 1 Eric Hahn (D) defeated Isaac Hopkins (ND) 7-5, 6-0
No. 2 Nate Gargas (D) defeated Garrett Hesselrode (ND) 6-2, 6-3
No. 3 Logan Wyman (D) defeated Andrew West (ND) 6-4, 7-5
No. 4 Arjun Sahai (ND) defeated Matt Chesser (D) 6-4, 6-3
No. 5 Devin Lincoln (ND) defeated Blake Bolin (D) 7-5, 6-1
No. 6 Ryder Boles (D) defeated Hayden Morrill (ND) 6-4, 6-4
Boles was playing in place of Travis Propst, who missed the match because of illness.
Doubles
No. 1 Hahn/Gargas (D) defeated Hopkins/West (ND) 8-6
No. 2 Hesselrode/Sahai (ND) defeated Wyman/Boles (D) 8-4
No. 3 Lincoln/Morrill (ND) defeated Chesser/Bolin (D) 9-8 (4)
Dexter (8-8) lost to Notre Dame earlier in the season 5-4. They will play in sectionals on May 19th against an opponent yet to be determined.

Sikeston, Missouri - The 2018 Class 4, District 1 Baseball Tournament Bracket and seedings have been released. Sikeston will host the tournament.
Seedings are #1 Sikeston, #2 Kennett, #3 Notre Dame, #4 Perryville, #5 NMCC, #6 Fredericktown, #7 Dexter.
Saturday, May 12th Perryville (13-7) will play NMCC (7-12) at 9:00 a.m.
Kennett (13-8) will play Dexter (3-14) at 11:30 a.m.
Notre Dame (13-8) will play Fredericktown (6-8) at 2:00 p.m.
Sikeston earned the bye and will play Monday, May 14th at 4:30 p.m. against the winner of the Perryville/NMCC game. Sikeston is 12-9-1.
The other semifinal game will be played at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Championship game will be Wednesday, May 16th at 6:00 p.m.
