Apply Online for MDC Spring Managed Turkey Hunts Starting February 1st
Apply online for MDC spring managed turkey hunts starting Feb. 1

Jefferson City, Missouri -  Missouri youth, archery, and firearms turkey hunters can apply online for 2018 spring turkey managed hunts Feb. 1 - 28 through the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) website at mdc.mo.gov/springturkeyhunts. Managed hunt details and application procedures are outlined on the webpage. Drawing results will be posted starting March 12.

Spring turkey hunting youth weekend will be April 7 and 8 with the regular spring season running April 16 through May 6. Detailed information on spring turkey hunting will be available in MDC's “2018 Spring Turkey Hunting Regulations and Information” booklet, available where permits are sold beginning in February. Woods Leads Puxico to SCAA Semifinal Game

Dexter, Missouri - The SCAA Boys Basketball Tournament continues on Tuesday evening with the #4 seeded Puxico Indians taking on the #5 seeded Bloomfield Wildcats.  It was a close game in the first quarter as they tied 14-14.  At the half the game was close Puxico 33, Bloomfield 29.  It was the 3rd period that the Indians came alive and held the Wildcats to just 13 points while Levi Woods scored 14 points.

Woods recorded a game-high 33 points and the most in the tournament thus far.  He had 12 buckets and two treys and was 3 for 3 from the charity stripe.

Dalton King tallied 23 points on four buckets and five 3-pointers for the Indians

Braiden Jones finished with 10 points, two buckets and two 3-pointers.

Carson Blair tallied a team-high 19 points for Bloomfield. He recorded 5 treys, two in the first quarter, on ein the third and two in the fourth period. 

Peyton Bell finished with 16 points on five buckets, one 3-pointer and was 4 for 4 from the charity stripe.

Dexter Rolls Past Bell City at SCAA Tournament

Dexter, Missouri - The #1 seeded Dexter Bearcats easily surpassed the #8 seeded Bell City Cubs on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Stoddard County Athletic Association boys basketball tournament.

Dexter started their secondary attack squad with Alan Pippins scoring all four of his 3-pointers in the first quarter.  He finished with 12 points.

All together they scored 31 points in the first quarter holding the Cubs to 14 points.  

Every Bearcat varsity player contributed to the stats with all players recording at least 4 points a piece.

Clay Mullins finished with a game-high 19 points on 8 buckets and was 3/5 at the charity stripe.

Gabe Jackson tallied 14 points on seven buckets.

Joe Rice recorded 13 points on four buckets and one trey and was 2/5 at the free throw.

Nate Stone tallied a team-high 9 points for the Bell City Cub.  He sank 4 buckets and was one from the free throw.

Dexter, Missouri - The Bernie Mules raced past the Woodland Cardinals into the semifinal of the 53rd Annual Stoddard County Athletic Association boys basketball tournament on Monday, January 22, 2018.

Weston Zoll of Bernie recorded a game-high 23 points on six buckets, three treys and was 2/3 from the charity stripe.

Michael Suiter recorded 18 points on nine buckets and Nate Dillinger finished with 15 points.  He was 100% from the free-throw line hitting all three of his shots.

Woodland's Connor Goodwin recorded 12 points on two treys, one bucket and was 4/5 from the free throw.

Karson Skinner finished with 11 points on four buckets and one 3-pointers for the Cardinals.

Bloomfield JV Boys Basketball Team Beats Woodland JV in SCAA Tournament

Dexter, Missouri - The 53rd Annual Stoddard County Athletic Association (SCAA) Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament began on Monday, January 22nd with the opening game between the Bloomfield JV Wildcats and the Woodland JV Cardinals.

Woodland seeded #6 was no match for the #3 seeded Bloomfield JV 'Cats falling 53-37.

Nick Carter tallied a game-high 19 points for the Wildcats.  He was five for five from the charity stripe and hit 7 buckets.

Colton Hyslop finished with two buckets and two treys for a total of 10 points for Bloomfield.

Woodland's Kyle Balsman recorded a team-high 14 points on 6 buckets and two free throws.
