Lady Cats Successful at Jackson Lady Indians Shootout
Jackson, Missouri - The Lady Cats traveled north to the Jackson Girls Basketball Shootout on Saturday, January 13, 2018 to play Pacific.

The Bearcats, who are ranked No. 8 in Class 4 of the state coaches poll hammered Pacific 51-28.

They primarily concentrated on getting the ball inside and the Cats did a great job of that.  Maycie Martin, Hannah Thurmon, and Rylee Allen did a great job finishing.

At the end of the first quarter Dexter led 14-4.  

The Lady Cats opened the second quarter with a 5-0 run and held Pacific to just 9 points in the first half.  Dexter led 28-9 at half time.

Chaylea Mosby extended the Cats lead scoring seven points early in the third quarter.  The Cats went on a 9-0 run out of the gate.

Hannah Thurmon finished with a game-high 14 points.  Chaylea Mosby tallied 11 points for the Lady Cats.

Grace Burrows recorded a team-high 13 points for Pacific.

Dexter will travel to Sikeston on Thursday, January 25th.  Game time 6 p.m.  They were to host Park Hills Central on Monday, January 15th, but snow and ice prompted a cancellation.  No word yet on a make-up date at this time.

2018 SCAA Junior Varsity Seeds Released

The 2018 Stoddard County Athletic Association (SCAA) Junior Varsity boys basketball seeds have been released.  The games will be played at the Bearcat Event Center in Dexter on January 22nd, 23rd, 25th and 26th. No games on Wednesday, Jan 24th.

Dexter JV earned the No. 1 seed followed by #2 Bernie JV, #3 Bloomfield JV, #4 Richland JV, #5 Puxico JV, and #6 Woodland JV.  

Bell City and Advance do not have junior varsity teams this year.

Dexter and Bernie both received a bye on January 22nd.

At 5:00 p.m. January 22nd the #3 Bloomfield JV Wildcats take on the #6 Woodland JV Cardinals for the only junior varsity match-up that evening.

On January 23rd #4 Richland will play #5 Puxico at 8 p.m. for the only junior varsity match-up on Tuesday.

The semifinal junior varsity games will be played at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 25th.

Third place game will be at 4 p.m. Friday, January 26th along with the JV Championship at 7 p.m.

All events will be held at the Bearcat Event Center in Dexter.  The ShowMe Times will bring you photos and quarterly scores of each game on Facebook and Twitter.

The 2018 SCAA Varsity boys basketball seeds have been released.

The No. 1 seed is Dexter followed by No. 2 Advance, No. 3 Bernie, No. 4 Puxico, No. 5 Bloomfield, No. 6 Woodland, No. 7 Richland and No. 8 Bell City.

Dexter will play Bell City on January 22nd at 8 p.m.

Bernie will play Woodland on January 22nd at 6:30 p.m.

Puxico will play Bloomfield at 5 p.m. on January 23rd and Advance will play Richland at 6:30 p.m. that evening.

Semifinals will be at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on January 25th.

Third place game will be at 5:30 p.m. and championship game at 8:30 p.m. on January 26, 2018.
