Dexter, Missouri - Severe thunderstorms didn't stop the Lady Cats of Dexter from defeating the Ste. Genevieve Lady Dragons on their home court Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in the Class 4, District 1 semifinal. Final Score Dexter 74, Ste. Gen 66.
Dexter junior #35 Chaylea Mosby had an awesome night earning her 1,000th career point and a team-high 30 points for the Lady Cats. She also finished with six 3-pointers.
Hannah Thurmon recorded 17 points and Krysten Garrison tallied 11 points.
"The Cats played well in the first half," commented head coach Chad Allen. "Coming into this game we knew they would box in one at some point. It really paid off going over that yesterday in practice. I told Krysten and Hannah to just take over in the second half. Both had a great night and scored most of the points in the second half."
Ste. Gen's Madison Reynolds finished with a game-high 36 points. Avery Reed had 15 and Emma Meyer recorded 11 points.
"They have a great team and Reynolds is an unbelievable player," Allen said of Ste. Gen. "She is a great passer and defensively she guards well."
"In the second half we did a much better job," continued Allen. "When you get in the play-offs you have to be ready to play and Ste. Gen was ready and senior loaded."
The Lady Dragons finished their season 19 - 11.
