Mules Attack Royals for the Win

Broseley, Missouri - The Bernie Mules traveled to Twin Rivers High School on Tuesday, September 27th.  They attacked the Royals winning 25-13, 25-21.

Kayli Tanner, Mabree Stone, and Taylor Lovelady each had 1 ace.

Kayli Tanner had 4 blocks, Madisson Wooldridge had 3 blocks, and Mabree Stone and Taylor Anthony had 1 block.

Kayli Tanner had 7 kills, Cymber Arnold had 4 kills, Madisson Wooldridge had 3 kills, and Mabree Stone and Morgan Baker had 1 kill. Morgan Baker had 12 assists.

Taylor Lovelady had 8 digs, Morgan Baker had 7 digs, Mabree Stone had 4 digs, Cymber Arnold had 3 digs, Kayli Tanner had 2 digs, and Taylor Anthony had 1 dig.

In Junior Varsity action the Lady Mules defeated Twin Rivers 25-5, 25-4.

Alivia Cobb dominated with serving in the 1st set by serving 12 points in a row, 7 of which were aces.  It was Ryleigh Foster in the 2nd set, serving 14 points in a row, with 4 aces. Makayla Turner scored 5 aces out of her 8 serves, and Haylee Robinette scored 1 ace.

"The girls did an excellent job with their attacks," stated head coach Monica Collier.

Cassidy Freed and Makayla Turner both scored 7 kills and Daisy Eaton and Nia Walker scored 6 kills.  Nia Walker also had 1 block.  Ryleigh Foster had 15 assists.

Alivia Cobb and Daisy Eaton had 4 digs,  Cassidy Freed and Haylee Robinette had 2 digs, and Ryleigh Foster had 1 dig.

The Lady Mules will be back in action on Thursday, September 29th when they host the Bloomfield Wildcats.

Bernie Beats Gideon in Annual HITS for HOPE Game

Bernie, Missouri - The Bernie Lady Mules beat Gideon 25-14, 25-8 in their annual Hits for Hope fundraiser for 18FORE Life on Monday evening.

Kayli Tanner led in serving points with 9: 5 in the first set and 4 in the 2nd set. Taylor Anthony had 7 serving points, Taylor Lovelady had 6, Mabree Stone had 5, Morgan Baker had 4. Kayli Tanner had 3 aces, Mabree Stone, Morgan Baker, and Taylor Lovelady each had 1 ace.

Taylor Lovelady led in digs with 6, Cymber Arnold had 4, Morgan Baker and Taylor Anthony had 2, and Madissen Corbin and Macayla Owens had 1.

Kayli Tanner led in kills with 7, Madisson Wooldridge had 4, Mabree Stone had 3, Morgan Baker and Cymber Arnold had 2, and Taylor Anthony had 1.

Morgan Baker had 16 assists and Taylor Anthony had 2.

In Junior Varsity action the Lady Mules defeated Gideon 25-3, 25-19.

Ryleigh Foster led us by a large margin in serving points by serving 16 points in the first set and 4 in the 2nd set, for a total of 20 points. She had 7 aces. Cassidy Freed had 7 serving points in the game with 3 aces. Alivia Cobb, Makayla Turner, and Nia Walker each had one ace.

Cassidy Freed led in defense with 6 digs. Alivia Cobb, Ryleigh Foster, Makayla Turner, and Daisy Eaton had 2 digs.

Makayla Turner led in kills with 5. Cassidy Freed had 3, Nia Walker had 2, and Alivia Cobb, Ryleigh Foster, and Daisy Eaton each had one.

Ryleigh Foster had 12 assists and Nia Walker had 1.

The Lady Mules will be back in action on Tuesday, September 27th when they travel to Twin Rivers.  Game time 6:00 p.m.

Mules Shut Out Eagles

Naylor, Missouri - The Bernie Mules baseball team traveled to Naylor on Friday, September 16th capturing a 15-0 victory over the Eagles.

The Mules jumped out to an early lead with 10 runs in the first three innings. They left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

Josh Ellenburg had two extra-base hits for Bernie Mules Varsity. He doubled in the third inning, tripled in the fourth inning, and singled in the second and fifth innings.

Blake Beacham kept Naylor off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the mound. He pitched a shutout, allowing only  three hits while ringing up four.

Bernie tacked on another seven runs in the third. A hit into a fielder's choice to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Josh Ellenburg's double, plating Hunter Slavings and Alex Guzman.

The Mules built upon its lead with three runs in the fourth. A triple by Nate Dillinger ignited the offense, bringing home Josh Ellenburg.

Bernie piled on two more runs in the top of the fifth, scoring Josh Ellenburg for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Hobgood's single, scoring Dillinger.

Mules Beat Leopold in Fall Baseball

Bernie, Missouri - A magnificent effort by Corbin Hunt spurred the Bernie Mules varsity baseball team to a 4-1 win in seven innings over Leopold on Monday, September 19th at Bernie.

The Mules got the win thanks in large part to Hunt's dominant, eight-strikeout performance. Hunt allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk over seven innings.

Mike Suiter pushed Bernie Mules Varsity ahead, in the sixth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Alex Guzman singled to get on base in the sixth.

Jayce Burk went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for Bernie Mules Varsity. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the third and sixth innings.

Leopold 's lone run of the ballgame came in the first inning on an RBI single by Blake Leazenby.

Final Score Bernie 4, Leopold 1

JV Bulldogs Beat Bearcats

Sikeston, Missouri - Bulldogs' junior varsity quarterback Gage Rolwing tossed two touchdown passes and ran for another during Sikeston's home win over the Dexter Bearcats 20 - 6.

Rolwing threw the ball in the first quarter finding B.J. Hill for a 66-yard touchdown.

Later Rolwing found Hayden Alcorn from 25 yards out and followed it with a 2-point pass to Trent Elliot for a 14-0 lead at the half.

After the Bearcats scored in the third quarter, Rolwing ran for a 5-yard score in the fourth to make up the final points of the game.
