Dexter Sports Spotlight - Maci Rauls

Dexter, Missouri - The ShowMe Times Dexter Athlete Spotlight shines on Maci Rauls.

Maci is a Dexter Bearcat Football Cheerleader. She is a freshman at the Dexter High School.

She is the daughter of Rick and Stacy Rauls. 

She was active in Beta Club and Headed to the Top in middle school.  

Her future plans are to attend college and receive a degree in interior design.

Dexter, Missouri - The ShowMe Times Dexter Athlete Spotlight shines on Britney Hubbard.

Britney is a Dexter Bearcat Football Cheerleader. She is a junior at the Dexter High School.

She is the daughter of Denny and Michelle Hubbard.

She is active in FCCLA and participates as a Dexter Bearcat Football and Basketball Cheerleader.

She has lettered in football cheerleading two years and basketball cheerleading one year.

Her future plans are to attend college and achieve a degree in business marketing. 

Hubbard enjoys cheerleading and has played softball outside of school.

She is also a  member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Dexter Sports Spotlight - Paige Moore

Dexter, Missouri - The ShowMe Times Dexter Athlete Spotlight shines on Paige Moore.

Paige is a Dexter Bearcat Football Cheerleader. She is a junior at the Dexter High School.

She is the daughter of Tisha Moore and Scott Moore. Her grandparents are Kay Davison, Connie and Wayne Mays, and Glen and Sophie Harrison of Dexter, Missouri.

Moore is active in FCCLA and a member of the Top 10%. She has won districts and sectionals two years in track. 

Her future plans are to attend college and become a neonatal nurse. She enjoys cheerleading and track.  Outside of school she has participated in soccer, cheerleading, basketball, and track.

Mules Take Out Tigers

Neelyville, Missouri - The Bernie Mules baseball team jumped out to an 8-0 lead after three innings then finished the Tigers off driving home five runs in the top of the seventh.

Bernie (10-4) defeated Neelyville 13-1.

Bernie Mules Varsity built upon its lead with three runs in the second. A single by Gavin Brown ignited the offense, scoring Barnett. That was followed up by Dalton Hobgood's double, plating Brown.

The Mules continued to pile on two more runs in the top of the third. Jayce Burk kicked things off with a single, scoring Weston Comstock.

Bernie scored five runs in the seventh on an RBI double by Michael Suiter, a sacrifice fly by Blake Beacham, an error, an RBI single by Trenton Johnson, and an RBI double by Alex Guzman.

Wyatt Barnett scored four times and finished 2 for 3 at the plate for Bernie.  He singled in the second and third innings. 

Jayce Burk tripled and scored.  Alex Guzman, Dalton Hobgood and Michael Suiter all doubled.

Guzman got the win for Bernie Mules Varsity thanks to 10 strikeouts in six inning with only one walk.  He gave up just five hits over six shutout innings.

Nate Dillinger pitched the seventh and had two strikeouts and one hit.

Hobbs was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked three and struck out two.

Bernie will be back in action on Thursday playing at Puxico.  Then they travel to Naylor on Friday.  Game times are 4:30 p.m.

Lady Mules Block Puxico

Puxico, Missouri - The Bernie Mules volleyball team travel to Puxico to take on the Indians Thursday evening.  The Varsity team pulled out a win 25-9, 25-17 over the Puxico Lady Indians.

Morgan Baker led the team in serving points with nine; six of which were during the first set and three in the second set.  Madi Wooldridge and Taylor Anthony had two service aces and Taylor Lovelady had one.

Kayli Tanner and two blocks and Madi Wooldridge had one.

Mabree Stone had 6 digs, Kaylie Tanner and Christina Dowdy each had 5 digs.  Morgan Baker and Cymber Arnold finished with 4 digs each.

Both Mabree Stone and Kayli Tanner had 7 kills for the night.  Cymber Arnold had three, Taylor Anthony had two, and Madi Wooldridge had one.

In Junior Varsity action, the Mules defeated the Indians 25-7, 25-14.

Ryleigh Foster led the team in serving points with 14 points while serving 8 in a row the first set and then during the second set, she scored three points in a row two different times.  Four were aces.

Cassidy Freed had 7 serving points in the first set.  She had three service aces.  Haylee Robinette finished with two service aces.

Cassidy Freed led the team defensively with 9 digs and very few errors.  Daisy Eaton had 5 digs, Alivia Cobb had 4 digs and Haylee Robineet finished with three digs.

Daisy Eaton and Cassidy Freed each had 4 kills.  Taylor Matney and Makayla Turner had two kills.  Ryleigh Foster finished with 12 assists.

"I am proud of both teams tonight," commented head coach Monica Collier.  "Varsity came back after a tough loss a couple night before.  They didn't like that feeling so they had their mind on winning tonight."

"Looking forward to playing Portageville at home next Thursday."  The Bernie Lady Mules have a few days off and will return to the court hosting the Portageville Lady Dogs on Thursday, September 22nd.
