
Dexter, Missouri - Mark your calendar for the biggest sporting event of the summer at the Bearcat Event Center! The Rib City Shootout is just a few months away and you will see some of the best boys and girls high school basketball talent from Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee. The Bearcat Event Center's southeast Missouri location allows them to offer a quality competition and a valuable experience for teams in the five-state area.
The girls and boys varsity and junior varsity basketball camp was developed in 2010 to give teams a setting in which to compete and improve. Their goal is for teams to have a rewarding experience capped off by a solid level of competition, appropriate to fit the level of talent.

Sikeston, Missouri - Class 4, District 1 girls basketball seeds were released today. The Lady Cats of Dexter earned a #1 seed with a record of 17-4. The Sikeston Lady Bulldogs earned the #2 seed with an 18-3 record.
Notre Dame (9-13) earned the #3 spot. Kennett (12-9) earned a #4 seed. Cape Central Lady Tigers with a record of 4015 earned the #5 seed. Perryville Lady Pirates earned #6 seed with a record of 9-11.
Kennett will play Cape Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 29th at the Sikeston Field House.
Notre Dame will take on Perryville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 29th.
On March 3rd Dexter will play the winner of the Kennett/Cape game at 6:00 p.m. Sikeston will follow at 7:30 against the winner of the Notre Dame/Perryville game.
The Class 4, District 1 Championship game will be played on Friday, March 4th at 6:00 p.m.

Sikeston, Missouri - Class 4, District 1 Boys Basketball seeds were released today. The Sikeston Bulldogs earned the #1 seed with a 20-1 record. Their only loss came against the Cape Central Tigers who earned the #2 seed with a 19-4 record.
Notre Dame (11-11) earned the #3 seed. Perryville (16-5) earned the #4 seed.
Dexter (12-10) for the first time in several years earned a ranking of 5th seed. Kennett has the last place seed with a record of 10-12.
Notre Dame will play Kennett at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 29th at the Sikeston Field House.
Perryville Pirates will play Dexter at 8:30 p.m. also on Monday, February 29th.
Sikeston will play the winner of the Perryville/Dexter game on Tuesday, March 1st at 6:00 p.m.
Cape Central will play the winner of the Notre Dame/Kennett game on March 1st at 7:30 p.m.
The Championship game will be held on March 4th at 7:30 p.m. in the Sikeston Field House.

Stoddard County, Missouri - On Wednesday, February 10, 2016 MSHSAA (Missouri State High School Activities Association) held a seedings meeting to release brackets for the District Basketball Tournaments for Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 for both girls and boys teams to begin play on Saturday, February 20, 2016.
The Advance Hornets are the #1 seed for Class 1, District 2 boys basketball and Bloomfield Wildcats are the #1 seed for Class 2, District 1 boys basketball.

Oran, Missouri - The Bloomfield Wildcats traveled to Oran Tuesday evening hoping for their 20th win of the season and they got just that! Oran attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter, but fell to the Wildcats 65 – 51.
“Oran just wouldn’t go away and we knew they wouldn’t,” stated Bloomfield’s boys basketball Coach Jason Karnes. “They are well coached, as always, and they got to us the fourth quarter.”
Bloomfield’s Tim Hector drove in 20 points for the Wildcats hitting five 3-pointers.
Nathan Newell contributed 16 points for Bloomfield hitting two treys in the first half of play.
Max Priggel recorded a game-high 21 points for the Oran Eagles with 10 coming in the fourth quarter.
“At this part of the year you sometimes have to find ways to grind out a win, and we are proud of our guys for doing that tonight,” continued Karnes.

Bloomfield (20-3) will host Holcomb on Thursday evening. It’s also Homecoming for the Wildcats. Their Homecoming celebration was postponed due to ice earlier this season.
The Junior Varsity Wildcats (14-7) also won their contest over Oran 52-36.
