To play the PigSkin Pick’em, the object is simple: We post several games a week for the next 10 weeks, featuring local high school football, college and some pro games, you pick and earn a chance to WIN!
Win?!? Yes you can win prizes throughout football season. Each week we will give away a wonderful prize to the 3rd place winner!!! Now that’s something different!
At the end of the contest period, the top point scorer will win the grand prize, a 42” Flat Screen TV and a $100 gas card!

1. Rules of Entry
No purchase necessary. Participants are required to provide their full name, phone number, and working email address to have completed a valid account. One valid account per participant.
If multiple accounts are detected for a single participant, the account(s) in question will be disabled and the participant’s points will be disqualified.
Contest participants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
Participants grant to the ShowMe Times the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.
2. Contest Winners
Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If ShowMe Times cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification. The ShowMe Times reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
3. Scoring
Each week there will be several games for each user to pick from, solely on a ‘what team wins’ basis. No merit will be given to score predictions, etc.
One point will be given for each correct pick.
4. Prize Drawings
Each week, the #3 winner (judged on the three highest weekly point totals) will receive a prize, selected at random, from a local business. Something a little different!
At the end of the ten (10) week contest, the participant with the highest season-long point total will be the winner of the grand prize.
In the event of a tie in point totals, either for the weekly prize or the season-long ‘grand’ prize, the tie-breaking method will be a random drawing from the names of all participants involved in the tie.
5. Privacy Policy
Every week, you will receive a summary of your picks to the email address provided during registration. For your convenience, you can also provide your cellular telephone number during registration.
If a user wins a prize, the user will be notified by Facebook or Twitter. All prizes may be picked up at Countywide Insurance, 140 S. Walnut Street, Dexter, Missouri.
SOUTHEAST FOOTBALL SUPPORTING PINK UP
WITH JERSEY AUCTION
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Saint Francis Medical Center and Southeast Missouri State University Athletics announced a new collaboration today, taking the Redhawks’ Pink Up efforts to a new level. Led by head coach Tom “Tuke” Matukewicz, the Southeast football team introduced the Pink Up Jersey Auction, which opens today and will culminate with the Pink Up game on October 31.
Pink jerseys will be worn during the Redhawks’ Pink Up game on October 31 against Tennessee Tech. Bidding on game-worn pink jerseys opened today at www.pinkupcape.com. After the auction closes at 11:59 pm on October 12, the winners will personalize their winning jerseys with a name in honor or memory of a survivor or loved one, if desired. After the game on October 31, the game-worn jerseys will be presented to the winning bidders. The winners will also receive two game tickets and an invitation to a pre-game tailgate party – all in honor of Pink Up.
“We are thrilled to join Saint Francis Medical Center to help make a difference in this community,” said Matukewicz. “We hope this effort raises awareness and money to fight this terrible disease. This will be a life changing experience for our players, who will have the opportunity to meet families that have lost loved ones to cancer.”
Saint Francis launched Pink Up in 2010 to raise awareness of breast cancer in the community. During the campaign, residents are encouraged to “pink up” their homes and businesses in support of the cause. Pink Up proceeds provide free mammograms to area women who otherwise could not afford them.
“You would be hard-pressed to find another region our size that embraces any program the way we have all embraced Pink Up,” said Jimmy Wilferth, executive director of the Saint Francis Foundation, at the auction announcement. “Our local businesses and schools relentlessly support this cause, and each year it gets bigger and better – and that means more help for our community.”
“This is another great opportunity for us to team up with Saint Francis Medical Center and raise awareness about breast cancer,” said Brady Barke, interim director of athletics at Southeast. “We are excited to use Southeast football as a way to celebrate survivors and honor those who have lost any battles with cancer and are committed to raising money to provide free mammograms in our community.”
Pink Up provides more than 400 free mammograms to local women each year, and has provided more than 2,600 free mammograms since 2000. Last year, more than 190 local businesses, 50 schools and countless individuals raised nearly $215,000 in support of the program.
Breast cancer is the second-most diagnosed – and second-most fatal – cancer in women. One in eight women will be diagnosed with the disease in her lifetime, but early detection could save her life. Women age 40 and older should have a yearly screening and the Pink Up attempts to remove financial barriers for those who need the screening but cannot afford it.

Dexter, Missouri - The Bearcats can’t wait to get the 2015 football season started this year. Last year Dexter hit some enormous milestones. They defeated Sikeston on their home turf with a “hook and ladder” play. They beat Charleston by 67 points and was the second highest scoring game in the last 15 years and they defeated Kennett at homecoming. Three great wins equaled terrific atmosphere and dedicated fans who cheered from the sidelines.
This year they look to increase the totals in the win column and have been working very hard this summer lifting weights and working on and off the field. They are dedicated to each other and as the old saying goes, “Once a Bearcat, Always a Bearcat!” rings in their ears.
“These guys have been working hard all summer,” commented head football coach Justin Peden. “Our weight program was extremely successful over the summer and camp attendance was great.”
The Bearcats open their season with the annual Jamboree. Normally it would have been Dexter’s year to host; however with the construction of the new entrance to the football field, East Prairie will host this year. Kennett and New Madrid County Central also slated to participate in the Jamboree. Game time is 6:00 p.m.
The Boys of Fall have been hitting practice pretty hard and the heat has been almost unbearable.
“We have gone through a week of two a days and are ready to hit someone else for a change,” continued Peden.
Dexter will have 12 seniors on the team this year. “Some are first year players, but most have been in the program with me going on three years.”
“I think we can expect a high effort, high intensity evening on Friday,” continued Peden. “I am ready to see what we can do against another team.”
Dexter opens the regular 2015 football season with a home game against Ste. Genevieve on Friday, August 21st. Game time 7:00 p.m.
They travel to Poplar Bluff the following weekend and then on to Charleston on September 4th.
The Sikeston Bulldogs are seeking revenge and will play on the Bearcat’s home turf on September 11th. It will be a blood bath between these two.
They play Caruthersville at home on the 18th then travel to Kennett on September 25th.
Homecoming is on October 2nd against New Madrid County Central. The Bearcats will travel to Park Hills Central on October 9th and end at home on Senior Night with Malden on October 16th before going into play-off weeks.

Dexter, Missouri - The Kiwanis Club will host their 3rd Annual 4-Person Golf Scramble on Friday, August 7, 2015 with a 1:00 p.m. Shotgun start at Hidden Trails Country Club in Dexter.
Entry Fee is $60 per play and includes Mulligans, green fees and a meal after the Scramble. Cart rental is not included in the entry fee.
Flights and payouts are determined the day of the Scramble.

The Kiwanis Club supports Boy Scouts by co-maintaining the Scout Bus that they purchased as will as helping with maintaining their meeting areas at the Methodist Church in Dexter. They send a student to Boys State and Girls State each year. They have donated to the Daily Statesman SOS, Dexter Project Prom, Dexter Public Schools for school supplies, Dexter Senior Center, Girls Scouts, Goodwill Games, Shop With a Hero, Special Olympics, Stoddard County Gospel Mission, Truck or treat, UCAN and the Kiwanis Key Leader Program. They also give two $1,000 scholarships to local seniors each year.

Dexter, Missouri - Dexter Parks and Recreation Little League Football registration is underway! This is a tackle football program with a deadline to sign-up of August 21st.
On August 22nd a one day DPR Football Camp will held from 10 a.m. - noon at the Dexter Baseball Complex with lunch provided. Each player will leave with their very own football! T-shirts will also be available.
DPR football is open to any player in 3-4-5-6 grades. All players must be present at time of registration to be weighed using the DPR scales.
Registration forms are taken at the park office Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (closed during the noon hour). Registration fee is $55 per player.
There will also be an evening registration August 18th. The evening registration will consist of an equipment fitting. On Monday, August 24th EQUIPMENT will be issued. Games schedules will be handed out as well that evening.
Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the sports complex. Coaches may add practice dates. During the week of the Stoddard County Fair, practices will not be at the complex.
Registration forms may be printed off the web. Online registration will not be taken for football due to the fact all players must be weighed. DPR reserves the right to refuse any forms that are received after the deadline. No Refunds. Click HERE for Registration Form.
Players will also be required to weigh-in prior to each game. All players exceeding the weight limit must play on the offensive or defensive line.
If you have a brother or sister playing in the same league, list their name on the registration form so that they may be placed on the same team. Remember only brothers and sisters in the same household will be placed on teams together. If you have a special circumstance, please contact the Dexter Parks & Recreation office.

Football games will tentatively begin September 12th and anticipate the final games being October 10th. Most games will be on Saturday. Teams will also have some night games during the week throughout the season.
Grades 5 and 6 will travel some with potential games being held in Jackson, Kennett, New Madrid, Malden, and Portageville.
Grades 3 and 4 will play most of their games in Dexter. They may play a couple of games in Jackson or New Madrid, but the dates have not been set.
