
Dexter, Missouri – Baseball season is here! The Dexter Bearcats are slated to open at Doniphan, Missouri on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. Their 2015 roster is composed of ten freshman, four sophomores, seven juniors, and four seniors!
Freshman are infielder Seth Harris, outfielder Trenton Willis, 2nd baseman Landon Henson, 2nd baseman Trevor McDonald, 2nd baseman Mason George, 3rd baseman Spencer Owens, catcher Kris Rinehart, outfielder Alexis Moore, shortstop Cordell Holt, and 3rd baseman/1st baseman Alex Bellers.
Sophomores are outfielder/catcher Jason Jarrell, outfielder/pitcher Riley Mason, outfielder/pitcher Garrett Keathley, and shortstop Hunter Parrott.
Juniors are shortstop Dalton Manuel, pitcher/1st baseman Chandler Young, outfielder Jordan Wood, 2nd baseman/pitcher Randall Allen, outfielder Tyler Heil, 2nd baseman/pitcher Jacob Pedigo, and 1st baseman Cody Pullum.
Returning for their last season as Bearcats are outfielder/pitcher Blake Horton, outfielder/pitcher Austin Aldridge, 3rd baseman/pitcher Jason Mattison, and catcher/pitcher Colton Averett.
Dexter will compete in the SEMO Conference with Poplar Bluff, Kennett, Sikeston, Notre Dame, Cape Central, NMCC, and Jackson. The SEMO Conference Tournament is slated for the first week of May.
The Bearcats will also enjoy three Saturday road doubleheaders this year. They play Oran and Valle Catholic at Oran on March 28th, Perryville and Ste. Genevieve at Perryville on April 11th, and St. Mary’s and Oran at Jackson on April 25th.
The Class 4, District 1 Tournament is scheduled for mid-May and will be hosted by Doniphan.
The Bearcats' baseball team are slated to host their home opener against Greenville on Monday, March 23rd!

Dexter, Missouri – The 8th grade girls’ volleyball team defeated the Kennett Indians on St. Patrick’s Day in front of a terrific hometown crowd of Bearcat fans!
The middle school Lady ‘Cats moved to 3-0 remaining undefeated.
Anna Bishop led the team in points serving 8 in the first set and 7 in the second set. They beat Kennett 25-16, 25-17.
“This was our first time playing Kennett at the Jr. High level so we didn’t know what to expect,” stated middle school head volleyball coach Melissa Hahn. “However, we always tell our players to play their game, to play good fundamental volleyball, and to always play with enthusiasm and energy.”
“We had some rough spots every once in a while, but overall we were pleased with their game,” continued Hahn. “Both Coach Christian and I noticed several things they were doing well that we had been working on in practice. We will continue to work on quicker transitions and consistency. This group of 8th grade girls are very coachable and a pleasure to work with. They are leaders in our school, the classroom, and on the court.”
In 7th grade girls’ volleyball action they defeated the Kennett Indians 25-10, 25-14 .
Madilyn Hampton paced the little Lady ‘Cats with 13 consecutive points served! Way to go Madilyn!
“I was extremely pleased with how the 7th grade team played tonight,” commented Middle School head volleyball coach Melissa Hahn. “We were more consistent in every aspect of the game. Our communication was better, our passing was good and we ran our offense! We played aggressively at the net as well.”
“I suspect this team will continue to improve throughout the season and make a great showing in the middle school SCAA Tournament,” continued Hahn.
The 7th grade T.S. Hill Middle School Lady ‘Cats are undefeated with a record of 2-0.
Both teams will be back in action on Thursday, March 19th at 6:00 p.m. in Sikeston against the Bulldogs!

The Dexter 8th Grade Lady ‘Cats defeated the Kennett Indians 25-16, 25-17. The gym was electrified with Lady 'Cat spirit featuring a strong middle school student body cheering section that kept the crowd engaged in the competition.
A powerful front line player, Riley Allen was a part of the scoring machine of the Lady Cats by pitching in 10-points in the first game and 8-points in the second game.
Natalie Sitze delivered serves that resembled bullets, flying barely above the top of the net. Maycie Martin also provided strong play on the front line for the Lady 'Cats.
In the first contest of the evening, the 7th Grade Lady Cats were also victorious over the Lady Indians by a score of 25-15, 25-14.
