Ethan Stevens finishes his season with a record of 35-2.
"Ethan had a very good season finishing with a 35-2 record. Went into the State undefeated and lost to Jr. Broden Lemaster of Reeds Springs (38-3) twice, once in the quarterfinals matchup and then again in the 3rd/4th place match up," stated Dexter Wrestling Coach James Sneed.
"As the season progressed Ethan started to wrestle a little conservative, I don't know if it was the pressure of being undefeated or what, but when Ethan wrestles his match he is very hard to beat," continued Sneed. "Ethan has great hips and a very good wizzer that makes it almost impossible to score on him. Looking for him to take the next step as a Senior and be in the finals, I know that is his and my goal for him next year."

All Bearcats listed on the roster recorded at least one bucket! Adam Webb, Matt Sims, Tyler Heil and Addison Moore each recorded two points in the second half.
“Adam Webb came off the bench and had a nice bucket late in the game,” Dowdy said. “I am happy for him because he always maintains a positive attitude in practice and tonight he came in and capitalized on his opportunity.”
Peyton Maddox tallied a team-high 19 points for the Cubs.
“We knew they could shoot the ball from the perimeter and I thought we had a hand up on most of their shots,” continued Dowdy. “We did an even better job securing some long rebounds, which led to some transition buckets. Unlike Friday night, we finished around the basket tonight!”
Dexter (8-12) will be at the Bearcat Event Center on Friday evening against Kennett. Game time is 6:00 p.m. and it is SENIOR night!
“We have to get back to work tomorrow because we know we have a good Kennett squad coming to town on Friday,” Dowdy stated. “That will be Senior Nigh and we will get a chance to honor three fine young men, Peyton Pollock, Noah Kronk, and Matt Sims.”

“We knew Notre Dame would get better throughout the course of the year and it definitely showed tonight,” stated Dexter head basketball coach Chad Allen. “I thought they shot the ball really well from the perimeter. “Coming out of halftime I thought we did a great job of getting the ball inside ad keeping our heads up to find the open man,” continued Allen. “Krysten Garrison was on the receiving end of that a lot. She has good court awareness and finds gaps. We found her and she attacked the rim finishing very well!”
Brooke Blankenship recorded a team-high 13 points for Notre Dame. Hayli Chapman tallied 12 points. Both hit a pair of treys.
“Both teams really wanted to press and push the ball up the floor,” stated Allen. “It was a fast-paced game. Both teams got to the rim quite a bit. I didn’t think we finished as well as we have in the past, but it was great to be able to pull away in the third quarter.”
