Dexter, Missouri – Bloomfield was looking for a win against the Cardinals.  They had just lost their homecoming on Friday night 51-45.  Woodland knew they needed to work a little harder and they knew Bloomfield would be well prepared for their next encounter.

In the end, #6 seeded Woodland Cardinals upset the #3 seeded Bloomfield Wildcats in an emotional battle 49 – 48.

Noah Vandiver had a team-high 15 points.  Tim Fox recorded 11 points, which included 3 treys.  Nathan Newell finished the game with two treys and a basket and Tyler Battles hit one trey for the Wildcats.

It was all Woodland’s Garret Reynolds that stole the thunder from Bloomfield.  He recorded a game-high 28 points including 2 treys, five baskets and was 12 for 12 at the charity stripe.  His biggest period was in the 2nd when he scored 12 of Woodland’s 14 points.  He just seemed unstoppable!

Woodland (9-9) will play in the varsity semifinal on Thursday, January 30th at 7 p.m. against the winner of the Advance/Bell City game.  That game will be played Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m.
