Dexter, Missouri - Well Bearcat fans playoff time is here! I can’t believe the regular season is already over, times flies when you are having fun! I know our guys are excited about making some noise in the playoffs and I know the Bearcat faithful are ready to support them.
Our first round opponent will be the Potosi Trojans. They are a quality football team and will be a big test for us. Even though we are the lower seed I feel confident that we can be victorious if we stay together as a family, practice hard, and play a full four quarters! We as coaches have put together a game plan that I know will be successful.
This season has been an amazing blessing for me. As the “new guy” I have met so many great people who have been supportive of the players and myself and I can’t thank them enough. My family and I have enjoyed getting to know all of the Bearcat Nation and I can’t wait to get to know more of you! Even though we have not had as much success in the “W” column as I had hoped for we have played hard and come a long way this season.
I will miss the seniors from this year’s team immensely. Guys like Holden Bruce, D.J. Dowdy, Noah Rains, Drew Mason, Trevor Waldner and Kyle Stearns. They have made coaching here a lot of fun. I have enjoyed getting to know all the seniors and hope to stay in touch with them after the season and beyond.
I truly believe that the relationship that gets built between a player and a coach never truly ends; it just changes as time goes on. I hope we can send them out on a positive note by beating Potosi and setting up a rematch with Ste. Gen! I know it’s a long drive, but I hope to see the stands full of red and black on Thursday!!
Go Bearcats!! Dexter's finest will be on the field and in the stands!
