Park Hills, Missouri -
The Dexter Bearcats traveled to Flat River Friday night to battle with the #9 state ranked Park Hills Central Rebels. Optimistic having won last week's game against the Charleston Bluejays, the Bearcats quickly realized who they were up against.

"We moved the ball well in the first couple of series,"stated head football coach Justin Peden.

The Rebels wasted no time scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter.  However their second extra point attempt was no good give them a 13-0 lead.

In the second quarter, the Rebels threw a pair of touchdowns to Jake Bridges and again their extra point attempts failed, giving them a 25-0 lead.  Then a penalty at the buzzer gave the Rebels an untimed down at the end of the half.  With zero seconds on the clock, they set the stage for a field goal attempt, but instead they threw the ball into the endzone for another Rebel touchdown.  An extra point kick by Jake Bridges was no good, 31- 0 half-time lead.

"D.J. Dowdy did a great job moving around in the pocket and getting first down.  I think if we had scored on that first drive, it would have been a different ballgame just because of the momentum," stated Peden.

Park Hills Central added another 6 points to open the second half when Jake Bridges completed a 17 yard touchdown making it 37- 0, then the Rebels got their final points in the fourth quarter when a misplayed snap of the ball resulted in a safety.  Final Score 39 - 0 Rebels.

The Rebels with an impressive (8-0) record racked up 377 yards of offense, running for 193 yards on 31 carries and throwing for 184 yards.  "They are a big team.  They just wore us down and they played tough.  They are impressive," stated Peden.

The Dexter Bearcats with a record of (2-6) will host Malden on Friday evening.  It's SENIOR NIGHT.  Seniors will be introduced at 6:30 p.m. on the field with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Charles Bland Stadium.

"We are going to prepare for Malden this week and it should be a great game.  We are family on and off the field and I am very proud of my team.  They are getting better and we are preparing for district play as well," commented Coach Peden.
