Bloomfield Wildcats Fall Baseball Reaches Midpoint of the Season
Bloomfield, Missouri - Fall baseball is in full swing at area high schools as the Bloomfield Wildcats played host to Cobden High School of Illinois and neighboring Campbell High School. All three teams took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and fall temperatures to square off in a round robin tournament format.
With a roster of many young players, the Bloomfield Wildcats often found many sophomores and freshmen on the diamond. Freshman, Tim Hector was on the mound during the second contest against Campbell and displayed incredible pitch control and poise on mound.
Campbell got up on the scoreboard early in the contest and maintained a lead throughout the game. Bloomfield battled back throughout the game but was unable to overcome the lead losing the game by a score of 13 to 12.

In the Wildcats first match of the day, Bloomfield dropped the game by a narrow margin of 4-2 against the Cobden Appleknockers. A low scoring game, the Wildcats were unable to get the offensive machine fired up enough to earn a victory.

The team will continue on the road at the end of next week for a rematch against the Campbell Camels on Thursday and the East Carter County Redbirds on Friday. They will complete their season the following week with a doubleheader on September 24 at Leopold and September 25 at Neelyville, before returning home on Thursday, September 26 against the Bernie Mules.
