Dexter, Missouri - Hanna Moore, daughter of Tisha Moore, of Dexter will be competing in the 2013 AAU Junior Olympics to be held on the Eastern Michigan University Campus in Ypsilanti, Michigan, just outside of the Detroit area.

Athletes from all over the country will invade Eastern Michigan University Campus to take part in the 2013 AAU Junior Olympics.  This year's Junior Olympics will host the following events across six different venues: Baton Twirling, Bowling, Cheerleading, Cricket, Field Hockey, Feats of Strength, Gymnastics, Jump Rope, Karate, Powerlifting, Sport Stacking, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Track & Field / Multi-Events, Trampoline & Tumbling, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.

Along with the great competition between athletes of all ages from all over the United States, there will be also be great events like the Celebration of Athletes on Monday, July 29th at 7:30 p.m.

Competitions begin on Friday, July 26th and end on Saturday, August 3rd on the Olds-Marshall Track at Rynearson Stadium.  In order to compete at the Junior Olympics, Hanna had to be one of the top five finishers at the St. Louis 2013 AAU Track & Field National Qualifier Meet. 

Medals will be awarded to the top eight finishers in each age division and a plaque will be awarded to the first place relay team in each age division.  Hanna will be competing in the 13 year old age group and has qualified in the 800 meter and long jump.  Her longest jump recorded so far has been over 14 feet.  She also will participate in the Multi-Events category running the 800 meter, 200 meter hurdles, and performing the long jump, high jump and shot put.
