Students must be a senior in high school with 90% of his team’s games played or 75% of the total team quarters played, possess outstanding moral character and have an ACT score of 27 composite or above.  Each must maintain a GPA of 3.25 out of a possible 4.0.

Coaches and principals of the nominated student must verify all qualifications and an official transcript must be submitted.

In a recent announcement by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association, Dexter Bearcat’s Ryan Joyner and Chase Young were selected to the 2013 Boys Academic All-State Basketball Team.

It is quite an honor to not only be good on the court, but to be successful in the classroom as well.  These students not only keep up with their day-to-day homework assignments and exams, but also have daily practices and weekly games, sometimes even multiple games in a week or a tournament to play.

Congratulations to Chase Young and Ryan Joyner on your accomplishment!  Job well done!
