Sapphire “Phire” Adai Ledora Holmes, daughter of Shaunteza Patton and Damion Holmes of Bernie, Missouri, was born on December 16, 2021, in Sikeston Missouri. Sapphire was called “HOME” on June 27, 2022, at 4:55 a.m. at Southeast Health of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 6 months.

Sapphire was a happy, joyful baby who enjoyed being talked to and watching just about any TV show or movie you put in front of her. She was very feisty and when she didn’t like something she would let you know.

Sapphire is survived by her mother, Shaunteza Patton of Bernie, Missouri; by her father, Damion Holmes of Bernie, Missouri; by a sister, Deandria Holmes of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. By her maternal grandparents, Aisha Patton and Cornelius Patton of Parma, Missouri; by her paternal grandmother, Claudette Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and by her paternal grandfather, Orlando Perkins of Sikeston, Missouri.

Sapphire’s parents would like to give special shout out and thank you to the Staff at Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri as well as her home nurse Jennifer Burk who all loved our sweet baby girl like their own.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Wednesday, July 6th, 2022, from 11:00 am- 12:00 pm.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 6th, 2022. At 12:00 pm with Pastor Carl Williams officiating.

Interment will follow in the Macedonia-Babyland Cemetery in Malden.
