Nelda J. Eakin, daughter of the late Carl Driskill and Hazel Hessling Driskill, was born on June 18, 1934, in Catron, Missouri, and departed this life on November 29, 2021, at Cedarhurst Memory Care in Shiloh, Illinois, at the age of 87 years.
Mrs. Eakin was a former homemaker and she worked in a pecan factory and dry cleaners while her husband was in the Air Force. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, reading her bible, shopping for clothes with her daughter and watching TV, especially “The Price is Right”. She was a lifelong member of Garden Ridge General Baptist Church near Bell City, Missouri and a member of Rosewood Heights Community Church in East Alton, Illinois.
On July 29, 1950, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Buel K. Eakin. Mr. Eakin preceded her in death on February 11, 1998.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ray of Belleville, Illinois; by her brother, Carl Driskill Jr. of Panama City Beach, Florida; by two grandchildren, Michael McCormick and wife Jaime of Belleville, Illinois and Nathaniel Ray and wife Katheren of Pelham, Alabama; by her great-grandson, Dylan McCormick; by her great-granddaughter due April 2022; and by her nephew, Terry and niece, Stephanie both of Panama City Beach, Florida.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Belinda Sutterer; and by her brother, Norval Driskill.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Everett Hessling officiating.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Danny Brewer, 74, of Advance, MO, passed away November 30, 2021 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born October 17, 1947 in Senath, MO, the son of Paul and Zola Green Brewer.
Danny worked for the City of Advance as the Maintenance Supervisor for over 30 years. For 23 years he owned and operated DanDee Hardware in Advance, with his wife Deanna. He was a faithful member of the Advance Church of Christ. He was also 32nd Degree Mason.
Danny enjoyed spending time fishing and gardening. He was an avid Advance Hornets basketball and volleyball fan, always sitting in the same spot at the Advance gym in his favorite Hornet t-shirt.
Danny's pride and joy was his family. He adored his wife and his children. His absolute favorite thing was being Pop to his grandchildren.
Danny was always telling jokes or pulling pranks on his friends, always making people laugh.
Danny and Deanna Pfeffer were united in marriage on September 4, 1965 and she survives of the home.
Survivors include: his wife, Deanna Brewer a son, Chris (Tonya) Brewer of Dexter two daughters, Tammy (Wink) West of Pocahontas, MO and Amber (Dave) Moore of Jackson, MO six grandchildren, Whitney, Heather, Brittany, Chelsea, Macie and Karlie 11 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Asher, Ellie Grace, Hazel, Kingston, Kit, Harrison, Kennady, Brad, Mackenzie, Emberlynn and one on the way one great-great-grandchild, Evelyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Louise Martin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Kyle Carter. Burial will at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, MO.
Kenneth L. Rowe, son of the late Arvel Rowe and Velma Temples Rowe, was born on July 31, 1942, in Dexter, Missouri, and departed this life on November 29, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 79 years.
Mr. Rowe was a former machine operator for a box factory and a resident of Dudley, Missouri.
On April 30, 1999, he was united in marriage to Dawn Blunt. Mrs. Rowe preceded him in death on January 17, 2018.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Drummer and husband Dale of South Beloit, Illinois; by his step-daughter, Shelley Dover of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; by two step-sons, Robert McDonald of Cadiz, Kentucky and Michael McDonald of Cadiz, Kentucky; by three brothers, Terry Rowe of New Martinsville, West Virginia, Jerry Rowe of Littleton, Colorado, and Leslie Rowe of Pocahontas, Arkansas; by three sisters, Deloris Eueland of Tyler, Texas, Cathy Langfelder of Tyler, Texas, and Linda Holland of Eudora, Arkansas; and by eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Other than by his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Rowe and by his sister, Janice Shocklee.

Sylvia Gay Gant, age 78 passed away from this world November 26, 2021, at Regional Hospital in Popular Bluff, Missouri. She was born in Washburn, Maine on May 14, 1943, to Beulah Mae Maskell of Washburn, Maine and Bruce Edward Gant of Osceola, Arkansas.
The family relocated to Dudley, Missouri in 1946. Sylvia attended the Dudley School House and graduated from Dexter High School in 1961 where she was Valedictorian of her class. She studied education at Southeast Missouri State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. She also received her Master’s Degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University - Cape Girardeau in 1965.
She began her 33-year distinguished teaching career in 1965 at Fox C-6 School District in Arnold, Missouri. She was a committed instructor in the history department where she taught course work in American and World History. She was a popular and beloved teacher by hundreds of students throughout the years. Upon her retirement from teaching in 1997 she relocated back home to Dudley, Missouri. Retirement allowed her the time to serve as the historian for the family and she spent much of her free time as an avid genealogy researcher. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, and quilting. In all ways, she was devoted to caring for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Marvin and Mary Jane Gant of Dudley, Missouri and Donald and Harriet (Hattie) Maskell of Washburn, Maine; and parents Bruce and Beulah Mae Gant of Dudley, Missouri.
She is survived by her brother Richard Dennis Gant and sister-in-law Arvella (Tracy) (Wilson) Gant of Dexter, Missouri and their son Chris Eric Holcomb of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She is also survived by her sisters Donna Maxine (Gant) Barker, of Dudley Missouri and Mary Elaine (Gant) Wagner of Winter Park, FL. Her niece Janelle (Barker) Gibson of Webster Groves, Missouri and great nephew Gant Hunter Gibson and great niece Mary Genevieve Gibson are also survived.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, December 3, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Graveside services will then be conducted in the Dudley Cemetery on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 12:00 p.m.

Lela Mae Gisi, daughter of the late Jim Smith and Nancy Little Smith, was born on September 12, 1927, in Leachville, Arkansas, and departed this life on November 24, 2021, at her residence in St. Charles, Missouri, at the age of 94 years
Mrs. Gisi was a former beautician.
On December 4, 1946, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Glennon Gisi. Mr. Gisi preceded her in death on March 25, 1983.
She is survived by four grandsons, John Wozniak (Lisa) of Cottleville, Missouri, Donald Wozniak of St. Charles, Missouri, Michael Wozniak (Diana) of Warrenton, Missouri, and Steven Wozniak (Angela) of St. Charles, Missouri; and by eighteen great-grandchildren and twenty-one great-great grandchildren.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Gale Gisi; by her daughter, Judith Faye Wozniak; by her great-grandson, Charles Glennon Wozniak; and by her great-granddaughter, Angelica Steven Wozniak.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 pm.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
