In Memory of Everly-Rose Hankins

Everly-Rose Hankins, beloved daughter of Scott and Jennie Hankins of Dexter, Missouri was born on February 11, 2021 in St. Louis, Missouri. Everly-Rose graced the world showing everyone she was a fighter defying the odds of Trisomy 18. Everly-Rose was a precious little angel, bringing hope, joy and happiness to everyone she touched throughout the nine months and nine days of her life. She went to be with our Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

In addition to her parents, Everly-Rose is survived by four big brothers, Carson Hankins, Connor Hankins, Brennan Hankins, and Tyler Hankins all of Dexter; by one big sister, Naomi Hankins of Dexter; by a host of aunts and uncles and loving extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 11:00 until 1:00 at the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. in the First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Alex Holloway officiating.

Interment will follow in the Smith Stevenson Cemetery near Dexter.

The family requests those attending the services to wear light blue to honor Everly-Rose and the awareness of trisomy 18. Ribbons will be available at the church as well.       

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: 4EverEverly account at the First Midwest Bank in Dexter, Sikeston, Jackson, or Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

In Memory of Bonnie Mae “Tess” Bomar

Bonnie Mae “Tess” Bomar, daughter of the late Cecil Ray Kilgo and Every Jewel Beasley Kilgo, was born on January 30, 1943, in Gideon, Missouri, and departed this life on November 20, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 78 years.

Mrs. Bomar was a former beautician in Malden, Missouri, a former checker for Wallace & Owens in Malden, a former inspector for Plastene in Portageville, Missouri, and a resident of Malden.

She is survived by her long-time companion, Glen Hurley of Malden, Missouri; by her daughter, Tonya Schultz and husband Richard of Dexter, Missouri; by her son, Michael Hurley of Memphis, Tennessee; by her brother, Sonny Ray Kilgo and wife Carmen of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and by a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. James Hamlett officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Robert Alan Miller

Robert Alan Miller of Sikeston, Missouri was born to the late Max and Colleen (Alsup) Miller on April 29, 1954  on the US Air Force Base in  Burderop Park, Wiltshire England and passed away on November 16, 2021 in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 67 years.  

Robert had been a resident of Sikeston, Missouri since 1965 except for the 20 years in was in the United States Navy.  While in the Navy, Bob spent 18 of his 20 with the Submarine Force on both “boomers” and fast attack boats as he traveled around the World.  An Avid outdoorsman, his family could never understand how he could love being cooped up in a submarine, but he absolutely loved every minute he served.  Upon retirement, he certified as a long haul trucker and spent several years driving back and forth across America.  He was a past member of the Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sikeston, Missouri.  

Surviving Robert is his sister Elizabeth Michailoff of Camano Island, Washington; cousins Larry and Judy Cookson, Jerry Cookson, Missy and Patty, plus many others all of Puxico, Missouri.  He is preceded in death by his parents Max and Colleen Miller and one sister Chris Kincaid.  A host of treasured family and friends also survive.

Graveside services to be held on Tuesday November 30, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.  with full Military Honors at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Rev. Kenneth Lambert officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Dixie Lee Lowe

Dixie Lee Lowe, daughter of the late Andrew Knotts and Mary Hopkins Knotts, was born on September 13, 1920, in Campbell, Missouri, and departed this earth on November 14, 2021, at NKC Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 101 years.

Mrs. Lowe retired from the Bernie School System as the cafeteria cook. She was of the Baptist faith.

On May 2, 1942, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Sidney Lowe. Mr. Lowe preceded her in death.

She is survived by three children, Aaron Lowe and wife Joyce of Kansas City, Missouri, Sharon Cooper of Independence, Missouri, and June Lowe of Sugar Creek, Missouri; and by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Janet Arnette and Joyce Beaird; by two brothers, Herbert Knotts and Andrew Notts; and by her sister, Anna Denson.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow in the Dunklin Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri.

In Memory of Kyran Link Mitchell

Kyran Link Mitchell, the son of Charles Mitchell of Dexter and Angel Dodson Mitchell of Essex was born on February 29, 2012 at Poplar Bluff and departed this life on November 14, 2021 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 9.

Kyran was a joy to anyone he met. He was a proud Richland Rebel. Kyran enjoyed playing video games, building Legos, and watching anime. He loved all things Pokémon and riding his razor when his health allowed. He wouldn’t let his family out of his sight and loved being together with them.

In addition to his father, Charles Mitchell and his mother, Angel Mitchell, he is survived by one sister, Addyson Williamson of Essex; by one brother, Remington Battles of Essex; by his maternal grandmother, Laura Dodson of Dexter; by his paternal grandfather, David Mitchell and girlfriend Stephanie Parks of Dudley; by his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Sagharichi and husband, Mahmoud of Poplar Bluff and by many close friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mike Dodson.

Visitation will be conducted on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Richland High School Gymnasium from NOON until 3:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Richland High School Gymnasium.

Interment will follow at the Essex Cemetery.
