
Carolyn Nelle Rhodes Chaney, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went home to rest Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at the age of 91.
The daughter of Dr. John Carlisle and Cora Boyd Rhodes, Carolyn was born on April 5, 1929 in Puxico, Missouri. She celebrated her fifth birthday with her future husband, David Glenn Chaney, and after a high school romance and brief separation during David’s service in the United States Army, the two married on August 5, 1951.
Carolyn began her higher education at Central Methodist University and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1951. She taught English, music, and E.S.L. for many years, primarily in the Ferguson-Florissant School District. Carolyn was an active member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Florissant, Missouri, and a proud member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter J.T. She enjoyed a spirited game of Scrabble, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and teaching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dr. Jerry Rhodes of Farmington, Missouri. Her life and memory were cherished by her husband of nearly 70 years, David (Corky) until his passing on October 12, 2021. Carolyn’s faithful spirit will continue through her family: David R. and Debra Chaney, Rev. Dr. Sara Chaney, Carla (Chaney) and Glen Morelli, Rev. A memorial service for Carolyn and David Chaney will be held at St. Mark’s UMC on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 10 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Graveside committal service will follow at Puxico Cemetery at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mark’s UMC at 315 Graham Rd., Florissant, MO 63031. Reva J. Raymo, daughter of the late Cecil Waggoner and Edith Perry Waggoner was born on January 27, 1941, in Pyletown, Missouri and departed this life on October 22, 2021, at the Southeast Health Center of Cape Girardeau at the age of 80.
Mrs. Raymo was a member of the Bridge Church of Christ and was a retired bookkeeper.
She was united in marriage to Charles Edward Raymo on March 28, 1981, in Bernie, Missouri. Mr. Raymo preceded her in death on April 19, 1987.
She is survived by two sisters, Arlene Eubanks and Marjorie Waggoner, both of Dexter, Missouri and by five step-daughters,
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Gordon Waggoner, Eldon Waggoner, Hiland Waggoner, and Merlin Waggoner; and by two sisters, Dorothy McClard and Joyce Eskew.
A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sycamore Cemetery in Dexter.

Edward Allen Edmonds, son of the late Arvil Edward Edmonds and Mildred Deloris McDonald Edmonds was born January 20, 1950 in Daniels, Maryland and departed this life on October 24, 2021 at his home in Bernie, MO after fighting a long battle with cancer.
Allen served in the Marine Corp and once a Marine always a Marine. The Marine mentality got him through the toughest of health battles and was with him to the end. He served in Vietnam from 1969-1970 as a machine gunner. He received the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Purple Heart Medal. He was a member of VFW Post 15026 and the NRA.
He was united in marriage to Rebecca Joann Johnson on February 6, 1971 in Bernie, Missouri and Mrs. Edmonds survives in their home in Bernie.
Survivors are one daughter, Alicia Kay & Jimmy Baugh of Bernie, two sons, Ian Edward & Monica Edmonds of Olathe, KS, Daniel Lee & Kelli Edmonds of Kamiah, ID; seven grandchildren, William & Hannah Barnett, James & Bri Carter, Madalyn Edmonds, Chloe Carter, Oniece, Orlie and Osco Edmonds; three great grandchildren, Henry & Judson Barnett & Ember Carter; Also by four sisters, Susan Rebecca Clary, Shirley Rosetta Williams, Darlene Victoria Hill and Cathy Lynn Shipman; also by other relatives and friends.
Allen was a member of Corner Gospel Fellowship in Bernie and served as elder and board chairman.
Services will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 with visitation from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will then be conducted at 11:00 P.M. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Dean Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri at 12:00 Noon, with Full Military Honors.
A Celebration of Life and meal to follow at Corner Gospel Fellowship in Bernie, Missouri.

Tony Hicks, son of the late Hurley Hicks and Maybelle Allred Hicks, was born on October 22, 1946, in Ramseur, North Carolina and departed this life on October 23, 2021, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 75 years.
Mr. Hicks was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam. He was a former IT manager for Steward Steel and Federal Mogul, and he was a resident of Bernie, Missouri.
He was first united in marriage to Diane Hicks, she preceded him in death on June 7, 1976. He was then united in marriage to Katie Stone on June 5, 1988, in Bernie, Missouri. Mrs. Hicks survives of their home in Bernie.
In addition to his wife Katie, he is survived by four sons, Stan Hicks and wife Jenny of Asheboro, North Carolina, Mike Hicks and wife Sherry of Liberty, North Carolina, Westley Simmons and wife Amy of Dexter, Missouri and Jonathan Simmons and wife Lara of Dexter, Missouri; by his daughter Micah King and husband Bob of Puxico, Missouri; by eleven grandchildren, Dalton King and wife Maddy, Liz King, Cassi Hicks, Kyle Hicks, Cory Hicks, Sean Hicks, Bryce Simmons and wife Delaney, Brock Simmons and wife Maddie, Meg Simmons, Molly Simmons, and Jack Simmons; by his great-grandchild, Kenley Hicks and one on the way, Kamden King.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jared Simmons and by his brother, Tim Hicks.

John Louis Steven Stanford II, son of John Stanford and Pam Stephens Treat, was born on June 4, 1982, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and departed this life on October 21, 2021, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 39 years.
Mr. Stanford was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Afghanistan and he was a Federal Agent working in the Office of Special Investigations. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and a resident of Poplar Bluff. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf. He loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and he loved playing basketball with his wife and kids. John was an amazing husband, father, son, and friend.
On September 22, 2007, in Lilly Chapel, Ohio, he was united in marriage to Lenora McIntier.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora Stanford of Poplar Bluff; by his father Steve Stanford of Dexter; by his mother and step-father, Pam and Donald Treat of Bernie; by two sons, William Stanford and Wyatt Stanford, both of Poplar Bluff; by two daughters, Lily Stanford of Poplar Bluff and Faith Stanford of Clarkton; and by his sister, Chastity Beaird of Bernie.
Visitation will be held at Westwood Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff on Sunday, October 24, 2021, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted at Westwood Baptist Church on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Dan Carr Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.
