In Memory of Brenda Carol Riddell

Brenda Carol Riddell was born on May 19, 1946 in Clarkton, Missouri to the late Clerance Hillis and Malba Lee House Hillis.  She departed this life on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 73 years 4 month and 9 days.

Brenda Carol Riddell was a factory worker and she was of the Pentecostal faith. On September 17, 1960 in Malden, Missouri she was united in marriage to James Riddell. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2009.

Her survivors include: four sons: Clarance Riddle of Bernie, James D. Riddell & wife, Jennifer of Malden, Melvin Tibbs & wife, Tina of Bernie and Justin Riddell of Malden.

Three Daughters: Susan Darlene Rutledge & husband, Cecil of Myrtle, Missouri, Nikki Luke & husband, Tyson of Campbell and Missy Greenfield & husband, Lorence of Morehouse, Missouri

Nine Grandchildren

15 Great-grandchildren

Four Sisters: Sandy Holt of Chester, Illinois, Carol Grey of Malden, Diane Ray & husband, Raymond of Gideon and Jan Ray of Kennett.

Sister-in-law: Debbie Hillis of Jackson

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents & 2 brothers: Dub & Danny Hillis.   

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 12-1 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden. Funeral services will follow at 1.

Interment will be in the Stevens Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri.

In Memory of Dale Tilley

Dale Tilley, son of the late John H. Tilley and Vevie Drye Tilley, was born on November 26, 1953 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on September 27, 2019 in the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri at the age of 65 years.

Mr. Tilley was a veteran of the United State Air Force.  He was a truck driver for over 40 years and a resident of Kennett, Missouri.

On June 11, 1982, in Stoddard County, he was united in marriage to Donna Ashby.  Mrs. Tilley survives of their home in Kennett.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David Andrews of Jackson, Missouri and Greg Andrews of Sikeston, Missouri; by two sisters, Gale Bess of Dexter, Missouri and Katherine Hopkins of Bloomfield, Missouri; by four brothers, J. W. Tilley of Bloomfield, Missouri, Kenneth Tilley of Van Buren, Missouri, Larry Tilley of Essex, Missouri and William Merrick of Ridgeview, Michigan; by five grandchildren, and by three great-grandchildren.

Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Maxine Robey, Floy Jean Robey, Leonora Bost and Lula Jackson; and by four brothers, Carl Tilley, Gerald Tilley, Charles Tilley and Robert Tilley.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 

Funeral Services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Davis officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Dennis Keith Flurry

Dennis Keith Flurry, son of Keith Flurry and Betty Pattillo Flurry, was born on April 14, 1958 in Hobbs, New Mexico and departed this life on September 27, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 61 years.

Mr. Flurry was a veteran of the United States Army.  He operated a land grader for Ray Rowland and was a resident of Dexter, Missouri.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Pattillo Flurry of Malden, Missouri; by his father, Keith Flurry of Delaware, Arkansas; by his long-time companion, Cindy Heaton of Dexter, Missouri; by his son, Robert J. Schwartzkopf; by his daughter, Kim Tomes; and by two grandchildren, Jordan Patterson and Kaythlin Tomes.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Funeral Services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dudley Cemetery in Dudley Missouri.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of John Christopher

John Christopher "Chris" Jenkins of Blytheville, Arkansas, son of Johnny Lee Jenkins and the late Kim Darlene Dodd Morgan, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on May 27, 1974, and passed away at Beaumont Hospital in Trenton, Michigan, September 20, 2019, at the age of 45 years, 3 months and 24 days.

Chris had lived in Dexter most of his life. He had worked as a welder at a steel mill.

Surviving are one son, Kyle Jenkins of Dexter, Missouri, his father & step-mother, Johnny and Margaret Jenkins of Amorel, Arkansas; three brothers, D.J. Morgan of Dexter, Tyler and Brandon Jenkins both of Blytheville, Arkansas; his grandfather, Bob Dodd of Dexter. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with services to follow at 12:00 p.m.

Interment will follow at the Sycamore Cemetery near Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Garry Joe Temples

Garry Joe Temples, son of the late Kenneth “Short” Temples and Elsie Etta White Temples was born in Pyletown, Missouri on March 6, 1943 and departed this life at his residence in Bernie, Missouri on September 23, 2019 at the age of 76.

Mr. Temples was a long time Farmer near Pyletown and a cattle farmer.  Those who knew him knew him as a big man with a big personality. He was of Baptist Faith.

He was united in marriage to Peggy Ridenour in Dexter, Missouri on April 18, 1964.  Mrs. Temples survives of the home in Bernie.

Other survivors include one son, Tim Temples of Dexter, Missouri; by one daughter, Lisa Turner of Bernie; by one brother, Kenneth Leon Temples of Hartselle, Alabama; by three grandchildren, Sam Turner of Ashland, Missouri, Makayla Turner of Columbia, Missouri and Tucker Temples of Dexter, Missouri; by one great-grandchild, Sterling James Turner; also by other relatives and many friends.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.   

Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Fitzpatrick officiating. 

Interment will follow in Sycamore Cemetery in Rural Dexter, Missouri.
