In Memory of Freda Mae Henson

Freda Mae Henson, daughter of the late William Barber and Ida Randolph Barber, was born on November 3, 1913 in Stoddard County, Missouri and departed this life on September 13, 2019 at her residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 105 years.

Mrs. Henson was a former nurses aid for a hospital in Flint, Michigan.  She was a member of Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church in Dexter.

She was first united in marriage to Ralph Hollis.  Mr. Hollis preceded her in death on March 24, 1969.  She was then united in marriage to Lenard Henson in Flint, Michigan.  Mr. Henson preceded her in death.

She is survived by her step-son, De J Henson of Flint, Michigan; by five nieces, Sue Jones Graham of Dexter, Missouri, Brenda Barber Nicolai of Jackson, Missouri, Judy Barber of Kimmswick, Missouri, Maxine Sanders Vaughn of Bloomfield, Missouri and Helen Sanders White of Big Fork, Montana; by her nephew, Carl Sanders of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and by numerous other dear relatives, friends and caregivers.

Other than by her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Newt Barber and Deon Barber.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, September 16, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ray Rowland and Tim Nicolai officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
