In Memory of Gene Lee Hunott
Gene Lee Hunott, son of the late Clarence Hunott and Delle Waters Hunott, was born on May 15, 1925 in Kewanee, Missouri and departed this life on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Dexter Living Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 94 years.

Mr. Hunott was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II.  After leaving the military, he worked for Ameren Utilities as a lineman and foreman.  Gene was a member of First Baptist Church in Dexter and a resident of Dexter.

On June 22, 1957, in Hernando, Mississippi, he was united in marriage to Bernice Revelle.  Mrs. Hunott survives of their home in Dexter.

In addition to his wife, Bernice, he is survived by his daughter, Pam Hiett of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by his son, Steve Hunott of Dexter, Missouri; by his brother, Jimmy Hunott of Sikeston, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Derek Wayne Hiett, Lindsey Kay Medley, Adam Miles and Lottie-Ann Hunott; and by six great-grandchildren, Hunter Derek Hiett, Landen Wayne Hiett, Makenzie Lynn Medley and Conner Daniel Medley, Ronin Miles and Ryder Miles.

Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dora Ann Drago.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Neil Durner officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Vivian Lee (Culbertson) Newlin
Vivian Lee (Culbertson) Newlin, of Florissant, MO died June 11, 2019.

She was born March 5, 1925 in Parma, MO to John R. and Cora (Tippen) Culbertson whom both preceded her in death; along with 5 siblings Marie (Paul) Newlin, Ellen (Homer) Whitehead, Marguerite (Sam) Chadwell, Annie (Chester) Dunning, and J.T. (Modene) Culbertson; and two spouses, Victor Hain and Paul Newlin. She is survived by her sister, Nora (Milton) Coleman; daughter, Wilma (Eugene) Grossmann; 3 grandchildren, Stacie, Amy, and Joseph; 4 great-grandchildren, Megan, Catherine, Nicholas, Juliet; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Raised on farms in Stoddard County, during WWII Vivian and her sister Nora were "Rosie the Riveters," producing B-24 bombers at the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI.

When the war ended, she returned to St. Louis where she spent most of her career working Emerson Electric assembling radar packages for aircraft. She retired from Star Manufacturing where she paved the way for women to be allowed to work in the men’s department. She was an inspiring, strong, fighting spirit and will be forever missed.

Friends may call upon the family starting at 10:00 AM Friday, June 14, 2019, at the Morgan Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico. Ray Placher will serve as officiant. Interment will immediately follow in the Puxico City Cemetery.

In Memory of June Cullum
June Cullum of Dexter, daughter of the late John Thomas and Ora Bessie Walker Maloney, was born in Risco, Missouri on September 15, 1943, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on June 11, 2019, at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 26 days.

June was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Dexter.

Surviving are one daughter, Michelle Williams of Dexter; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchild; and one brother, Freeman Mims of Corning, Arkansas. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sheila Mims and Christina Cullum; one granddaughter, Tabatha Mims; three brothers, LeRoy, Marvin and Paul Mims; two sisters, Lola Mae Graves and Bertha Ivy.

Visitation will be held on Friday June 14, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 15, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Rick Breeden of Bloomfield officiating.

Interment will follow in the Taylor Cemetery in Essex with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

The family requests donations be made to Watkins & Sons Funeral Service, P O Box 96, DEXTER MO  63841.

In Memory of Clara B. Harvey
Clara B. Harvey, of Campbell, went to be with our Lord on October 26, 2018 at 90 years of age. 

Wife of the late W.C.(Junior); dear mother of the late David Harvey; the late Beverly Sue Harvey, Billy Ray (Deb) Harvey and Petrina Fay (George) Gray.  Sadly missed grandmother of William Leo Gray, Kenneth Gray, Steven Harvey, Patricia (John) Gibbons; great-grandmother of nine.  Preceded in death by her twin sister Mary Bennett.

Clara loved growing flowers and gardening.  She took great pleasure from watching the wild birds and animals near her home.  She belonged to Bethany General Baptist Church in Campbell and treasured all her friends there.  She was a woman of great patience and infinite kindness.

Interment will take place on June 17, 2019 at Bethany Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Verna Deen Bryant
Verna Deen Bryant was born on November 2, 1940 in Risco,  Missouri to the late Albert Deen & Nomree Veatch Deen. She departed this life on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Winchester Nursing Center in Bernie at the age of 78. 

Verna was a homemaker and was of the General Baptist faith. She was first united in marriage to Glen Ray. She later was united in marriage to Robert Bryant on August 13, 1977 in Malden. He survives of the home. 

Her other survivors include two daughters Jan Jackson and husband Mark of Malden, Missouri and Pam Owens and husband Monty; son Wade Ray and fiancee' Sara Reed of Mesquite, Texas; grandchildren Summer Davis and husband Trey, Amanda Thomas and husband Jeremi, Fawn Manes, Faith Owens, Dawson Owens, Nichole Jackson and Ben Jackson; 14 great-grandchildren, and four sisters Judy Johnson, Sondra Hickson, Linda Porter and Sheila Ray.

She was preceded in death by her parents & 2 brothers: Ronnie Deen & Larry Deen


Visitation will be held Thursday June 13, 2019 from 6-8 P.M. at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Landess Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Hamlett officiating.

Internment will be in Elder Cemetery in Campbell, Missouri.
