In Memory of Verna Deen Bryant

Verna Deen Bryant was born on November 2, 1940 in Risco, Missouri to the late Albert Deen & Nomree Veatch Deen. She departed this life on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Winchester Nursing Center in Bernie at the age of 78.
Verna was a homemaker and was of the General Baptist faith. She was first united in marriage to Glen Ray. She later was united in marriage to Robert Bryant on August 13, 1977 in Malden. He survives of the home.
Her other survivors include two daughters Jan Jackson and husband Mark of Malden, Missouri and Pam Owens and husband Monty; son Wade Ray and fiancee' Sara Reed of Mesquite, Texas; grandchildren Summer Davis and husband Trey, Amanda Thomas and husband Jeremi, Fawn Manes, Faith Owens, Dawson Owens, Nichole Jackson and Ben Jackson; 14 great-grandchildren, and four sisters Judy Johnson, Sondra Hickson, Linda Porter and Sheila Ray.
She was preceded in death by her parents & 2 brothers: Ronnie Deen & Larry Deen
Visitation will be held Thursday June 13, 2019 from 6-8 P.M. at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Landess Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Hamlett officiating.
Internment will be in Elder Cemetery in Campbell, Missouri.

In Memory of Michael Zabelin

Michael Zabelin, 81, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas. Michael was born November 8, 1937, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to Mary (Bogden) and Feodore Zabelin. Michael was a 1955 graduate of Duquesne High School, and he served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He was married to Suzanne Dithrich on October 20, 1968. He worked for Central Electric Power Co-Op from 1969 until his retirement in 2003.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Verna, and his brother, Fred.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Suzanne; daughters Ruth (Glenn Perrigo) and Sarah; son Mark (Shanan); grandson Ethan, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
Memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, with Pastor Holly Wilson officiating.
Burial will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 19, at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Michael’s memory to The Salvation Army or the Special Needs Ministry at University United Methodist Church, (5084 De Zavala Rd., San Antonio, TX 78249).

In Memory of Robert Leon Laird

Robert Leon Laird, son of Wilma Deck Laird and the late Leon Laird, was born on September 26, 1969, in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri and departed this life at Southeast Health of Stoddard County on June 10, 2019 at the age of 49 years.
Mr. Laird was a farm laborer for Strickland Farms for twenty-six years.
On January 20, 2007, in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Danielle Walley. Mrs. Laird survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to his wife, Danielle, and his mother, Wilma, he is survived by two sons, Brandon Laird and Dylan Laird, both of Dexter.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 12:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

In Memory of Winifred “Freddie” Perry

Winifred “Freddie” Perry, daughter of the late Winifred Knight and Daisy Wellman Knight, was born on May 11, 1930 in Stoddard County, Missouri and departed this life on June 9, 2019 at Puxico Nursing and Rehab Center in Puxico, Missouri at the age of 89 years.
Mrs. Perry was a former cook for Beverly Enterprises.
In 1946, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Donald E. Perry. Mr. Perry preceded her in death on December 1, 2011.
She is survived by two sons, Rick Perry and his friend Pam McClure of Wappapello, Missouri and Donn Perry of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by her daughter, Sheri Stone and her friend John Hulley of Wappapello, Missouri; and by one grandson, Casey Perry.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dale Holman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

In Memory of Dale Lee McClanahan

Dale Lee McClanahan, son of the late Charles Houston McClanahan and Sula Chism McClanahan, was born on January 13, 1949 in Broseley, Missouri and departed this life on June 8, 2019 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 70 years.
Mr. McClanahan was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a laborer for a lumber yard and a resident of Dexter.
On September 1, 1973, in Aid, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Janet Miller. Mrs. McClanahan survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by his son, David McClanahan and his wife Amberle of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and by two grandchildren, Elizabeth McClanahan and Lucas McClanahan.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles McClanahan and Donald McClanahan.
