In Memory of Curtis “Bud” Blunt

Curtis “Bud” Blunt, son of the late Dwight Blunt and Helen Snider Blunt, was born on September 24, 1940 in Rural Essex, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 78 years.
Mr. Blunt was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a farmer and a resident of Essex, Missouri.
On December 24, 1964, in Bloomfield, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Thelma Shipman. Mrs. Blunt survives of their home in Essex, Missouri.
In addition to his wife, Thelma, he is survived by two sons, Jason Blunt and his wife Shiela of Essex, Missouri and Darrin Blunt and his wife Tonya of Benton, Missouri; by his brother, James Blunt and his wife Aud of Bloomfield, Missouri, by two sisters, Norma Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada and Judi Mitchell of Chesapeake, Virginia; by seven grandchildren, Jordan Blunt and his wife Kristin, Abigail Blunt, Emily Blunt, Matthew Blunt, Lydia Blunt, Tabitha Blunt and Rebekah Blunt and by his great-grandson, Quinton.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Jonathan Rice and Rev. Larry Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of David R. Shelton

David R. Shelton, son of the late John Shelton and Ola Mae Roots Shelton, was born on June 5, 1928 in Malden, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, April, 28, 2019 at Winchester Place in Bernie, Missouri at the age of 90 years.
Mr. Shelton was the owner of Shelton Construction, attended Risen Church in Dexter and was resident of Dexter.
On October 31, 1953, in Brosley, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Doris Ann Hill. Mrs. Shelton survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to his wife, Doris, he is survived by his son, David “Randy” Shelton of Dexter; by two daughters, Rhonda Slaughter of Dexter and Kimberly Watson of Dexter; by two granddaughters, Kristin Blunt and Kali Watson; and by two great-grandchildren, Quinton Moore and Addyson Ellis.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by ten brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Tippen officiating. Interment will follow in Hagy Cemetery.

In Memory of Betty June Yount

Betty June Yount, daughter of the late Raymond Brewer Dayton and Avis Eugenia McCullough Dayton, was born on June 8, 1928 in Ardmore, Oklahoma and departed this life on April 23, 2019 at her residence in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age of 90 years.
Mrs. Yount was the former owner of the Ritz Café and Bookworm Book Store; and she also worked part-time for Dexter Bowl. She was a member of First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield and a resident of Bloomfield.
On June 15, 1948, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to John Gale Yount. Mr. Yount preceded her in death on November 29, 2006.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Yount of Bloomfield, Missouri and Mark Yount of Springfield, Missouri; by her daughter Beth Pulley of St. Louis, Missouri; by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield on Friday, April 26, 2019.

In Memory of Kimberly Jo Crosby

Kimberly Jo Crosby, daughter of Jo Anna Coburn and the late Clinton Crosby was born on July 5, 1968 in Bethesda, Ohio and departed this life on April 23, 2019 at her residence in Dexter at the age of 50 years.
Ms. Crosby worked in the fast food service industry.
Besides her mother, she is survived by one daughter, April Smith (Jessie Mattison) of Dexter; two brothers, Kenneth Crosby of Independence, Kentucky and Kevin Crosby of Columbus, Ohio and two grandchildren, Alyssa Mattison and Jacob Mattison both of Dexter.
Besides her father, she is preceded in death by one son, Eric Smith.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Poole officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.

In Memory of Marlene Culbertson Creg

Marlene Culbertson Creg, daughter of the late Paul Culbertson and Bessie Swallows Culbertson, was born on October 30, 1939 in Bloomfield, Missouri and departed this life on April 26, 2019 at her residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 79 years.
Mrs. Creg was the owner and operator of OK Radiator Shop in Dexter, was of the General Baptist Faith and was a resident of Dexter.
On December 29, 1961, in Bernie, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Harold “Bud” Creg. Mr. Creg preceded her in death on December 27, 2006.
She is survived by her friend, Stanley Litviak of Dexter; by her brother, Rufus Culbertson of Dexter; by her sister Dorothy “Jean” Caldwell of Dexter, and by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Dean Culbertson and by her honorary son, Chris “Mo” Mofield.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Graveside services will be conducted at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with William Parsley officiating.
