Joyce Cullum, daughter of the late Charles Thomas Scott and Rufie Connie Bohannon Scott, was born in Beach Corner, Missouri on August 3, 1928 and departed this life at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on August 31, 2018 at the age of 90.

Mrs. Cullum had worked at Brown Shoe Company and Woods Supermarket, both formally of Bernie.  She was a homemaker and a member of Bernie General Baptist Church.

She was united in marriage to Calvin “Cude” Cullum in Piggott, Arkansas on November 18, 1947.  Mr. Cullum preceded his wife in death on October 17, 2002.

Survivors include one son, Charles H. Cullum of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; by one daughter, Connie Lynn Dotten of Van Buren, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Mandi Brink & husband Nathaniel, Michelle Cullum, Jesse Dotten & wife Dakota, James Tuckus;  by four great-grandchildren, Jonah Brink, Rachel Brink, Elijah Brink and Granger Dotten; also by other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband; by one son, Michael Calvin Cullum; by one granddaughter, Sara Alicia Cullum; by one brother, Charles T. Scott; by two sisters, Ocie Marie Scott and Thelma “Pete” Scott.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ricky Roberts Officiating. 

Interment will follow in Kenneth Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Missouri.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Michael Shawn McGregor, son of the late George McGregor was born on April 5, 1970 and departed this life on August 21, 2018 at his residence in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age of 48 years.

He was owner of Quality Heating and Cooling, attended the Trinity Methodist Church and was a resident of Bloomfield.  He also attended the Florida State College at Jacksonville, Florida.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel. 

Interment will follow at the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Charles Boyles of Fisk, son of the late Harry (Silas) and Myrtha Juanita Abney Boyles, was born in Dexter, Missouri on December 1, 1931, and passed away at the Westwood Hills Nursing Center in Poplar Bluff on August 29, 2018, at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 28 days.

He also married Norma Glenn on June 25,1955 in Dexter Missouri. He also served his country as a 1st LT. in the Army.

Charles graduated from University of Missouri in 1953.

Charles lived in the Southeast Missouri area all his life he was a Vo-Ag school teacher until 1970 and owned Boyles Farm Service. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Dexter.

Surviving are his wife Norma Boyles of Fisk; one son and spouse, Larry (Shiela) Boyles of Fisk, Missouri; one daughter and spouse, Kim (James) Galloway of Fisk; four grandchildren and spouse, Morgan (Ryan) Mealy of Fulton, Allison Humphrey of Poplar Bluff, Matthew Boyles of Broseley, Taylor Galloway of Fisk; one great grandchild; Jackson Humphery of Poplar Bluff. Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Harold Dean, and Carrol Gene Boyles; two sisters, Vester Ruth Boyles and Catherine Hamaker.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Service in Dexter from 5:00 to 8:00 p m on Monday, September 3, 2018.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Ron Beaton of Dexter officiating.

Internment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements with full military honors.

Peggy Maxine Parks, daughter of the late James Samuel and Frances Ruby Baker, was born in Asherville, Missouri on July 14, 1933, and passed away at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, Missouri on August 29, 2018, at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 16 days.

Peggy had lived in St. Louis where she worked as a supervisor for the Grove Company Junior Sprotsware in Brentwood, Missouri for twenty-five years. She moved to Wappapello in 1985 and to Bloomfield in 2007. She attended the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield.

On February 4, 1950, she was married to James Lester Parks. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1990.

Surviving are one daughter and husband, Glenda (Michael) Shaw of O'Fallon, MO; two sons and wife, Gary (Lisa) Parks of Maplewood, Darrell Parks of Bloomfield; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren; Other family and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Lester Parks, two grandsons, two brothers, and one sister.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Steve Tippen of Bloomfield, officiating.

Interment will follow at the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Walter Mae Lindsey, daughter of the late Walter Clark and Kate Richardson Clark was born on July 28, 1939 in Leachville, Arkansas and departed this life on August 29, 2018 at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 79 years.

Mrs. Lindsey worked in home care as a house cleaner and was a resident of Dexter.

On May 18, 1978 she was united in marriage to Cecil Lindsey.  Cecil preceded her in death on October 12, 1995.

Survivors include: two sons, Bobby Black of Terrell, Texas and Paul (Joe) Black of Dexter, Missouri; by two sisters, Helen Brickey of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Shirley Patterson of Ash Flat, Arkansas; by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne Clark, Dave Clark and Hoyte Clark.
